Little drunk...but oh well :) *rant warning*
This is kinda got something to do with the free ww1 wish and the marketing AH stuff...or not, I'm drunk :)
So I've been going to the Airshows at Pease Tradeport in Portsmouth NH for many years, and my first memory was back in 98??? and they had F-15, A10, a C5, and a bunch of other crap I cant remember.
But what struck me was the B25 and the B17 that was there, it was the wings of liberty tour I think, and the only thing I was truly interested in were those WW2 birds. the 909 was the B17, and I dont remember the B25 anymore. and I GOT TO GO INSIDE!! I got the TShirt! I got a Replica .50 shell and casing!! and HOLY CRAP it was awesome. I really cant describe how cool it was back then, but it was amazing.
That expierence led me to AW although it took awhile because I had never heard of it. I bought AW2 and played offline and what fun it was! Eventually I actually saved my pennies (I was in highschool) and was able to get an online subscription to AW3 in gamestorm. ($15/m btw in 1998 currency) <--for the haters :) Hooked ever since, I've even had some actual flight time, a whopping half hour in a cessna 152, but that convinces me I'm awesome, because thats how it felt.
So to tie this back into AH and the advertising bit, I know it's HTC's job to do that, but how can one not want to help out? This is the only game where many of the customers are passionate enough about a game where they want to see more subscibers, just because...they (and me) want to share the expierence!
And back to the point...
If I was back at that airshow and there was an AH advertising booth, there is no way in hell I would not have signed up right then and there, Hell I convinced my parents back then for a bullet and a T-shirt (and later a flying lesson)
That's how I would advertise, Find the people that already want to play but do not know it yet.
(SYSTEM MESSAGE) End of MK-84's rant, you will return to your regularly scheduled programming, which probably involves someone complaining about a spitdweeb :D or your wife ack

Tell yoour friends, get them hooked, tell them to tell their friends.
Viral marketing is pretty cool.

I know, I work as a marketing consultant :aok
You'd be amazed at how easy it is to google whatever it is you want, and have everyone see it.

I took my daughter dow to Keene NH a couple months ago, and saw the B-24 and B-17, pony was in a hangar getting worked on :cry Was wanting to go inside but due to rain all day the day before they cancelled all the flights, and the day we went the planes were doing nonstop flights. Maybe next year I will have saved my pennies to so me and my daughter can go up in one. Not sure if anyone here might know but they also had a 262 mentioned on the banner.
