Title: OS X Lion?
Post by: Flinty76 on January 05, 2012, 07:46:39 PM
Greetings all! New guy here. I searched but I did not locate anything specific to my topic: Will AH run on my new Mac Book Pro running OS X Lion?

Thanks!

you'll need some kind of laptop cooler too as although AH runs well on the MBP hardware, it will run very hot. which means it wont last very long :uhoh

I've been running mine for two years now, no problems so far. It can get rather hot yes.

Bootcamp comes on your discs, you'll need to find a copy of Windows yourself.

I would also recommend smcFanControl. It is an utility for OSX to speed up the fans and also save the profiles with different speed settings.

AH runs under windows very well, but 2 years ago my graphic card went KO because of overheating (I have an iMac not a macbook). You set the fans speed in OSX then reboot in Windows and you are good to go.

Will smcFanControl work also when booted into Windows?

Please note that not all MBP:s are made equal. Others have weaker graphics cards, others have little bit better.

My older MBP (2008) had the weaker card and it just didn't run games well enough. With the current 2010 17" model I haven't even tried although it has the better model.

Maybe I should try it out.

yes it does.

edit:  the program won't work in WIN since it is an OSX app. But its settings will keep through the reboot. i.e. you set CPU fan at 2800 rpm in OSX, reboot in windows and your CPU fan will spin at 2800 rpm.
