Title: 262 base placement
Post by: Tazz69 on January 09, 2012, 01:17:04 PM
IMHO, i think that Me 262's should ONLY be available at a large air field. During the war, 262's weren't available at every operational base the Germans used. Me109's and Fw190's were the front line planes, not 262's. The fact is that when a raid is inbound to a base, some people up a 262 from the closest base and go goon hunting. I think the 262 should be set to certain bases like the 163 is. They weren't in that much front line use like they were during the war, so why not restrict them to a large field. They'll still be used as much, but will give the pilot less options as to where to go and how fast he will get there. OK, let crap fly! Flame on!

There is a reason we have perks, if someone chooses to intercept your horde with a 262 then he risks the perks.

The Me-163 should be the only plane limited to 1 base due to the circumstances around it.

-1 leave the 262 alone

If you are going to make claims such as this, please back them up with proof and documentation.  Some type of reference at the very least.

Oh yeah, your Latin is incorrect, also.  Sic Vic is a DJ from Austin, TX.

Perhaps you mean Sic vis pacem, para bellum (which is actually a question)
OR                      Si vis pacem, para bellum  (which is more of a statement)

Carry on   :salute

And yet, at least 8056 bases had been captured by goon in Late War in 2011
Amazing, isn't it? ;)

So if more than 8,000 goons got through on 2011 (probably more like 9,000 if you take into account those killed while the troops went in), and the 262 was responsible for only 4% of all goon kills... the problem doesn't seem that big anymore.

During the war, C-47s with paratroopers weren't available at every operational base the Americans used.

During the war, there wasn't an airfield every 30 miles.

perk the c47 :lol  In actuality the 262 is going to have to fly awfully low to get that c47 in most cases, making it vulnerable to diving enemy fighters.

Then again, going full speed, the 262 has about a 10k verticle zoom potential.

the 262 was responsible for only 4% of all goon kills...

That is because of all the 'spiez' that are rampant within Aces High.

Keeping the goons safe, or safer, is simply a matter of using better coordination and creativity in the attack and teamwork.
