I used to have a YouTube account, before they went all KGB and draconian with their information harvesting policies. I lately have been relying on vimeo, and it's quite nice.

Hardly anything on there, but eventually I plan to make a real Yak-9 video.  I was hoping to wait on a remodel before I do it, but my patience is slipping and I may just do it with the classic model.

Btw, I've discovered a better way to render a video.  First I use Sony Vegas to render to a lossless .avi file (most video editing software should have a lossless .avi output option).  The output file will be huge, 10s or 100s of gigabytes.  Then I use HandBrake ( http://handbrake.fr ) to "transcode" the lossless .avi to a H.264 MP4 file.  Its the best quality for the file size you can get. 

I use the High Profile setting, and if there's corruption on YouTube or whatever streaming site you use, the usual solution is to reduce the number of B-Frames from High Profile's default of 3, to 2, 1, or even 0.

Well, apparently, the Google hall monitors didn't like the way I hang my pistol, so they shut off my Youtube channel..
LOL, tactics of weaklings! I'll have a new one up soon enough!
 
Interesting! Apparently it is my Firefox.. Google (all of a sudden) will not allow me to sign in to Youtube using my Firefox browser..
Just since yesterday, lol.. Strangely, I was just talking with an associate about Youtubes new changes last night.. About choking
peoples IE8.. Said use Firefox, it has less built in spy(firm)ware.. LOL, now by miracle, I can't use Firefox to Login to my Youtube anymore..
Gotta love that kinda cheezy crap huh??? This is no BS, serious biz.. Know other people who are getting messed with too!

Oh nice, I've done that in the past but I thought they changed their policy.  I know fair use has been well established for a long time.

I'm pretty that rule has always been the same. You can't use copyright info without citing the owner of the material.

I never had to but it's been a year sense I have downloaded a video there and they have not made me take any of them down . I like Vimeo because there is no time limit .

Only your first few films are limited to 15mins on Youtube. I think after a few are made and a month or 2 passes your time limit is removed.
Having said that you are always limited to 2GB on file size.
