Title: call blocking app
Post by: DREDIOCK on January 10, 2012, 07:14:00 PM
Anyone using a call blocking app for your phone?
If so. what are you using?

I've about had enough of people who

"using new technology we can guarantee your website first page placement." (I've already accomplished that without "new technology")

Some guy from Arizona calling and acting like we are longtime buddies trying to sell me tools

Or the latest one who so far has called 4 times in the last two days wanting to analise my website to correct keyword mistakes so as to get my site better placed in searches (For a one time fee of $19.99). Thats 4 times including after I hung up on her

As well as lead generation referral services wanting my business and whom seem to refuse to take "no" for an answer

Some I get to hang up on me by starting ot talk to them like I am having phone sex with them. But my wife seems to think this is a bad idea LOL

CallFilter - Android

Use it for black list and unavailable numbers

I had to block all the 800 and 700 numbers that called me in the morning and middle of the night, if I had my phone off they left god awful annoying voicemails

A) I never answer a number I don't recognize
B) When I get a call from a number I don't recognize I just assign them a 'silent' ringtone
C) Can't you place your cell on the 'Do Not Call' list? I really don't know because I don't get that many annoying calls.

*Edit: They only call you because your phone is such a badarse one and they want you to like them oh manliest of men ;)  :neener:

Those annoying folks don't bother us soft handed Iphone users  :lol

Im in business. I cant just not answer the phone if I dont recognize the number. Would be  kinda counterproductive to getting new customers LOL

Because of this I pick up whenever the phone rings. But once I know the number I dont want to take I just want it to not ring
I just want to block numbers I know I dont want to take.

Most androids have an app built in I believe. Might be carrier specific.

Hire a receptionist (or your wife) to screen the calls :aok

Relax, have a home brew.

Have another.

Get hammered, rinse and repeat for 30 days.

Lose all customers, close business, cancel cell.

Problem solved.

Retire, relax and have a home brew.

Or, write an app that can do the following, depending on how annoyed you are:

Redirect them to a competitor
Redirect them to an ex-girlfriend
Redirect them to an annoying co-worker or subordinate
Redirect them to an answering machine that does one thing and one thing only, play a loop that makes it sound like they are on hold.
