Title: Warbirds refugee has found a new home..HERE!
Post by: Revvin on April 10, 2000, 01:32:00 PM
Hi,
Closed my four year old Warbirds account today, had it up to here (puts hand just above head) with iEN and their treatment of customers and the development of Warbirds. HotSeat began censoring my posts on iEN's forums because I did'nt stand in line with my pom-poms like a good little cheerleader and blow smoke up his bellybutton when I questioned why we had no real WBIII screenshots. Enough was enough he deleted 3 posts, the second warned I was this >< close to closing my accoutn if he continued deleting them.

I kept my account open for the last 4 months even though I only flew around 3 hours in total because I wanted to believe in WBIII. Instead all we have is a damage model that makes buffing unrealistic and nigh on impossible and gunnery and ballistics that have been porked around so much I don't think iEN know what they are doing anymore.

To cut a long story short I've refound my enthusiasm to log on and play, I log on to quickly check my mail and I can't resist the urge to pop into AH for a quick sortie. This is the kind of thing I used to do years ago at the height of my WB addiction  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif) The feel-good factor is back for me and its in Aces High. The community is so different from the one at AGW where the WB community seems to have gone sour over the years, there's enthusiasm here and developers willing to listen to their customers. With the new release a few more members of the squad I belonged to in WB have tried AH and liked what they see, so we formed a squad, a detachment from the Tangmere Wing of WB and now we have 12 members in the squad. If iEN carry on the way they are maybe there wil lbe a few more joining us  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Welcome aboard! I haven't quit WB's yet, but I have to say I'm in love with this whole AH thing, from the game to the different attitude of the people playing it. I still have friends over there, and that's one thing that keeps me from completely severing my roots.

Revvin, let me clarify, in a Darwinian scale, Knights would be  upright walking apes, and Rooks would be  the pond scum forming on the putred water where the Apeman takes a leak. (  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Funked!)

Sorry to dissapoint guys but I'm flying Bishops, it was the side  with lowest numbers and the squad decided to stay there. So where on the Ripsnort-Darwinian scale does that place me and my fellow co-horts?  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Hmmm, that would make you the guy dropping the net (or rock) on the apeman pissing in the pond...Right at the top of the food chain (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)..after all the folks at the top of the food chain are smart enough not to piss where they drink (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Apemen piss in one area, drink from another,;p.

Hmm, bish's, I don't have  too many rivalrys with Bish, so I guess I will say that your the dog that the 'Hunter' Apeman pats on the head. (No, not THAT head!)

Welcome Revvin!

Whether you like or dislike WB, you are welcome here. They don't have to be mutually exclusive.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

Lots of friendly folks to help you here... and lots of interesting things for us all to learn at the moment. Really an exciting time for AH!

Revvin..I sure hope that when you cancelled you gave the reasons for it to IENs office.
That is one thing I made sure to do when I cancelled mine. Let them know that Hotseat is killing customer relations.

Wellcome Revvin!
Cant blame you for quitting WB alltogether - if it wasnt for the SL's I'd done the same thing.
And wellcome to bishop land: were no better than the others, but were good looking!

Welcome to the future   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

I am about to quit wb too, havent been flying it hardly ever anymore.  I cant stand the hosed up gunnery and the idea of blowing $150 a month for what something I get now for $30 doesnt appeal to me.

Vaguely remember you. We must have flown at diffrent times. I to cancelled my 4+ year account with WB's. This is a much more skillful game IMHO. Its a real challenge to fite and stay alive to tell about it in here (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Here is another Tangmere wing pilot that has taken the leap. But i was in WB for a mere three years.

And i must concur with Revvin. Last night i HAD to log out from AH but i did not want to leave. I can not remember the last time that happened in WB.

I must say that the community in AH reminds me of the WB community in the "good old days" of 1.11.

It feels like coming home.   (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

Hey Revvin, I think I remember you from WBs.  Franz is here too, but he doesn't post on this BB.  I do all that for us both.  (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

FYI, be SURE you old acount with IEN is closed.  They are notorious for not actually closing accounts and will still be charging you $10 a month.

Hanz.

Remembering alot of old faces, my pre-version 2.0 WB handle was "rev1" there is certainly a buzz in AH right now thats hard to shake, like my squadmate -Dins- I have to tear myself away these days and there's alot of talk within the rest of the WB squad about trying Aces High. I ranf iEN to close my account and e-mailed them for comfirmation too, no reply yet but then I expect tardy service from iEN these days!
