Title: The T6 Texan wingtip is finished and hung in the garage.
Post by: G0ALY on January 12, 2012, 12:13:01 PM
I finished the navigation lights in the T6 wingtip and hung it in the garage above the Beech 18 rudder. I was going to paint it insignia yellow… But I decided that since it had been unpainted since the 1940s, so I might as well leave it that way.

I still have a three blade Hartzell prop that I’m trying to use as a ceiling fan. Someone else is fabricating the bracket. And, I also have two antique aircraft wheel pants that I want to use as shade for the ceiling lights in the garage.

It’s turning into a fun place to sit, listen to music or watch a movie… and enjoy a cold drink.

CHEERS!

Very cool.  I was enjoying dinner and a brew with my brother out someplace near where he lives this weekend, and noticed the place had only 3-4 large ceiling fans (must of been 8-12' blades) running at a mild clip and doing a fantastic job of keeping the atmosphere inside compfortable.  Definetley hope you get it up before summer.  :aok

Empty beer bottles, that's shocking! But the wingtip looks good. I must say though that the strobes attached to the wingtip on the bird I fly would sear your eyeballs.

Really I'm dead jealous. I want a den like that.

There are brands of beer that I would have much rather used.  But the light bulb inside the bottles cannot shine through paper labels. It just looked like a black square. So I was limited to clear plastic, or painted on labels.
