Just lost a V base in MW at odds of 7-2 (I think) ... Spent the last 5 minutes running around in a Panzer dodging dive bombing Lancasters (USAF should LOOK INTO replacing A-10 Tank Busters with Lancasters!) and delaying the Troop Drop ... Had an interesting thought ... How about USING ENY adjustment to raise the number of troops required to take a base when the defenders are heavily out numbered? How about adjusting down time on hangers and ack when the attacker has an overwhelming advantage in numbers? As is, a growing number of players are simply logging off rather than endure the frustration of fighting against 3 & 4 to 1 odds.
If this concept could (?) be applied on the basis of individual bases? Would it maybe affect the ability to defend against HORDES in LWA?

Kind of like this idea... it'd be buggy, though, I feel.
I like the idea of replacing Warthogs with Lancs, though :aok
-
I could see a horde dropping 10 sets of troops and then mass bailing to insure only 10 are needed, and they'll get in even with 1 or 2 people defending if it was rigged to a sector ENY.
-
But I thought that if you ended sortie, all ords disappeared? Like, bombs, torpedoes, rockets, supps, troops etc.

Troops will run if you stay towered, as I understand it. Killing the emptied M3 doesn't kill the troops ... until you leave the tower.
Not sure if this could be programed or not ... buggy ... maybe use a timer on the ENY adjustment so it remains in effect for X-min. before it re-evaluates?
:salute

I think it could be rigged so that my previous post worked.

Seems to me that if one side has more players than another then the side with more players should win..........all other stuff being equal.
Next we would have requests for hanger hardness to be ENY related
I'm all in favour of a more interactive capture model but if the side ratio is 7:2 then the 2 side should be losing IMO.

I wonder if there is a way for HTC to code it so if you bail from an M3, goony bird or bombers with no damage your troops and ord go away as well? This would prevent the ENY adjustment you are speaking of. Sadly there will always be people looking for ways to game the game in their advantage.

Why not just call for help on text?

He was in MW.... they were probably the only 2 there on that side.

Thats what i was going to say... lol no one from LW will understand some of the requests MW players make because they really dont pertain to LW

Very TRUE ! In LW the only time you are likely to see the defenders heavily outnumbered is during a Horde Attack ... Which is why I was thinking that - IF - such an adjustment could be applied on a Single Base basis it might make the defenders under a horde attack a little more likely to save their base.
The point here is to provide a playing field that is a bit more level and encourage players to FIGHT even when they are facing overwhelming odds. That's not going to happen much if they HAVE NO CHANCE AT ALL. IN MW we have a couple of 4-5 man crews that specialize in rolling undefended bases or playing "who can kill the pigeon first" when they have odds of 3 to 1 or better ... They always can be found in the wee hrs after midnight trying to roll the map when it's undefended ... If confronted, they just attack the 3rd side ... if BOTH the other sides are defended ... they log off and come back an hr later. IMHO ...one thing AH DOES NOT NEED is GUARD DUTY ... !

Arena country populations are generally not proportional in local fights so this could have the opposite effect from what you intend. I realize this is more true in LW than MW but it's still a consideration. I don't believe that local ENY adjustments are practical.
-
well, in MW considering our plane set isnt as ubber as LW. ENY doesnt really affect us for the most part. Even when it kicks in the planes are not as limiting as it is in LW.

Maybe I'm not being clear ... I'm proposing that the ENY adjustment (in LW anyway) be based on the ATTACKERS VS DEFENDERS at a specific base ... and that the number of troops required to TAKE the base, and the amount of time that Guns, Hangers, etc stay down, be adjusted according to that ratio ... Giving the defenders a CHANCE of being successfull. I suppose you'd have to set a radius (from the map room?) inside which the count would be made.

I understand what you meant which is why I said local ENY at a specific base isn't practical to implement.

I can imagine the programing headache this could be. It would be effective in the current MWA without limiting it to Base by Base application. But, I'm afraid it might not be as applicable in LWA on the total side Vs side population.
