always wondered why you could not map flaps to a axis in game so you could drop them with out pushing buttens. and also because i fly with mouse and keyboard can you make say SHIFT-Q drop all flaps (If posssable, if not then drop to lowest point at the speed your at) and SHIFT-W raise all flaps?

how?

Any axis can be set up as 3 zones each with it's own key press. You could set flaps "up" and "down" with the middle zone unassigned.

Just a question about that. If you set it up like you said, with 1/3 flaps up-1/3 neutral-1/3 flaps down. If I put the axis on the flaps up position, does it pull all the flaps notches back in or I have to cycle the axis like I'd do a button?
-
I was wondering that myself since I haven't used this function yet but it's easy enough to find out.

When it first came out I think I tried it. Going from memory (forgive me if I'm wrong) I think it keeps pressing that button. Thus, putting the lever to "flaps down" continues to try lowering flaps. Putting it to "flaps up" continues to try raising them. Naturally if they're all up or all down you will stop seeing a result.
Not too far off from some planes in WW2, where you had to return the hydraulic pump to neutral after you were done raising/lowering the flaps.

I have my flaps mapped to my scrolly button on my X52. Works great!
