Ok, I understand why they are doing it...
But has anybody else noticed that the pages content is still readable in the HTML source? Le fail!
-
Oh, just noticed that they intended it to be that way.
Le fail for my OP. :o
Carry on...
-
what I'd like to know is why they have done a global blackout of the English language pages when its US-only legislation they are protesting. makes no sense.
-
See Rule #14

Good, maybe now we will less stupid wishes on the AH forums with data that is completely erroneous.

Only for today.

Embrace and exploit technology to get what you want.

Just saying that they did a very poor job of locking the site. It was a simple redirect that is easily stopped.

I don't really think the point was to lock the site completely. Read into the point of the blackout a little bit more before jumping to conclusions.

It says right on wikipedia that they did not shut it down entirely, they say you access wikipedia still once you shut off Java. (or work around it)

Try this:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page?banner=none
-
Try this:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page?banner=none
Simply add "?banner=none" to the end of each page and you can see it fine.
i.e
wikipedia.org/wiki/p51/?banner=none
-
Yes.

In that case, disregard.
