Been playing this game for 5 years now and this question was always on my mind. After last night, it was especially so... but are a/c kills while in the gunner positions of bombers count toward anything on your bomber score?
Last night i was running bombers to A39 in the LW in 17's. I was flying into a big dogfight and making A LOT of nits mad. Every sorty, i was taking down about 5-8 nits before running out of bullets and getting shot down before i could drop my bombs. Only one run of the 7 or 8 i did to that base did i even drop bombs. However, looking at my score today, i only dropped about 10 places in my bomber score from 33 to low 40's.
So are those kills in the damage score or something?
Why cant we have a kill column for aircraft while in bombers?

All of us bomber pilots would like to know. My bomber score is terrible and I get some kills in my B-38.

wow, shuffler finaly recognizes that the 38 is a bomber :bolt:

Kills in any gunner positions are scored as Field Gunner/Observer as it states when you land kills and not as kills in bombers. I asked Skuzzy the same question about 6 years ago and got this answer.
However, I'm not sure how it is scored if you are in bomber mode in let's say the A20 when you get kills with the forward fixed guns.

not true at all. Im not talking about when others are gunning for another player, but when the pilot himself is doing the gunning. When i land my bombers, it says Flight17 landed 16000 in B17's and Flight17 landed 6 kills in B17's.

Uh, I wasn't talking about other players. Call HTC (1-817-251-1540) and get your answer instead of wanting to start an argument with someone who is tyring to give you an honest answer. Problem solved.

all i did was say what you typed is wrong, nor was i arguing... In my first post, i made it apparent that i was the one piloting the bombers. I cant help it if you misinterpreted what i said for someone who joined your bombers to gun since as you said, those are indeed landed as field gunners.

Ok, read my post again and tell me where I stated anything about anyone joining. And while you are at it, Call HTC (1-817-251-1540) and get your answer  :bolt:

because what you said, only applies when you join another plane or someone else joins yours. As i then pointed out, when you land kills in a bomber, it does not say landed in a field gun/observer, but instead states "flight17 landed 4 kills in a B-17" as was my case last night.

Just trying to be helpful. And if you didn't see it the first couple of times, here you go.
:devil Call HTC (1-817-251-1540) and get your answer :devil
Font size changed just in case you are old like me and have issues reading the 10pt. type size. :old: :x  :bolt:
Not trying to argue or whatever. Just give Skuzzy or Pyro a call and they will be happy to give you the appropriate answer to any of your questions. I had the same question years ago and gave you the answer I was given by Roy. But, always go straight to the source for the best answer.

This is why he thought you were talking about joining a bomber as a gunner. THAT is what lists your kills as a gunner position. Otherwise it lists your kills in a BOMBER (whatever you were flying) when you land them. You also get perks when you gun for yourself, but not for when you gun for others.

BOMBER Kills only count for Ground Targets Attacked (ie: GV's and other things that go boom!)
Bomb Vulching an aircraft = an Air Kill and is not scored in your BOMBER score.
Bombing a GV = a Ground Kill and IS scored in your BOMBER score.
Kills from a gunnery position give you perkz and will get your name in lights, but does nothing for your BOMBER score, except maybe reduce the times you die in a month. If you're worried about your Air kills being scored and tallied while in a BOMBER you should fly ones with an ATTACK setting, these will then score your Air kills as Air Kills.

I have experienced "wrong with authority". Thank you for letting me experience "wrong with an attitude" :rofl

So end of story

Not quite ;)
First of all, no kills in bomber mode have any impact on score whatsoever. Only damage to structures and field captures are part of the score and thus rank calculation, which is effectively the thing people are referring to when talking about "score". They do not add any points and do not factor in any way into one of the scoring categories. (See also http://www.hitechcreations.com/Help-Section/Aces-High-Features/aces-high-help-scoring.html )
The kills are just displayed as a statistical information, but - and this this is the very confusing part - it's handled differently on the webpage score card and on the ingame scorecard:
For some odd reason, only the air kills show up on the webpage "score" (right at the bottom), but for the ingame score card, it's only the vehicle which show up. But like all kills in game, all of them show up on your "pilot stats" page.
But again, this is only eye candy, your score doesn't 'improve' at all if get any kills.
And yes, I'm back, obviously. :D Computer is running again, and my AH data is being restored. Fortunately I had not forgotten to make backups frequently!
