Can you verify that you're not getting the "Host Connection Lost" dialog box? What do you have your video settings and graphic details set to?
-
i got worst i got the infamous "blue screen of death" *shivers*
-
Its not a host lost connection error.
"program has stopped responding" is the error.
All graphics turned up except for shadows and new Bump surfaces. Ground bump is on.
No graphic options were changed between old version and new.
-
What is your antialiasing set to? If that's turned up, can you turn it off and see if the problem persists? If not, can you try reducing the object distance range in your graphics options and see if that causes a change.
-
antialiasing is at 0
-
Seems new Version is downloading into Hitech~1 folder instead of Hitech creations.
-
Reinstaled game to new folder, everything the same as before......crash.
-
3 time for me since new patch today
-
Game seems to crash when Detailed Terrain and Water is enabled. I had both enabled before the update without issue. Since update, 7 Crash to desktops and counting.
-
Mine just crashed when trying to up an A20 at a base with a lot of cons flying around. I got the film from it.
It was NOT a disco.
I also get severe FR hits when flying close to a hill at times.
2048textures+hires, all graphics options on except shadows and except local water reflections (disabling LWR raised my frame rate from about 35 to maxed out at 60). Sliders maxed, ground clutter OFF while in flight. I actually turned AA OFF in AH before I ran the update for the first time. Wanted to see how well it would perform with ground clutter with it off and go from there.
Right Click/Save as for film: http://www.lca.ympsa.com/ctd.ahf (http://www.lca.ympsa.com/ctd.ahf)
Right Click/Save as for dxdiag: http://www.lca.ympsa.com/dxdiag.txt (http://www.lca.ympsa.com/dxdiag.txt)
Here's another film for another Frame Rate issue problem I ran into. Long film but it happened towards the end (I saved it right after it happened). Right Click/Save as: http://www.lca.ympsa.com/frhit.ahf (http://www.lca.ympsa.com/frhit.ahf)
-
Anyone having this issue and wasnt before the patch, try disabling Detailed Terrain and water or 1 or the other and see if it fixes. Hoping its something in the patch that is causing it and can be fixed.
-
I started having the same problem after the update. Does not say "host connection lost" or anything, AH just crashes.
I can provide any specific numbers from my system if you guys need, but given the number of people that I having these problems I don't think that my computer has anything to do with it.
-
I got the same "program has stopped responding" a few minutes in to the two flights I tried yesterday. After the game crashed the desktop was whited out except for the task bar and the error window. Both times the error occurred as I was entering a dogfight near a V base. I flew the betas offline for quite a while testing skins with no problem, but never online.
My video settings are set to 1920x1200, auto set FOV, texture size 2048, AA 2/3 to the right. On my first flight I had everything maxed on the in-game settings except for self shadowing. On the second I turned all the bump mapping settings off. I will try turning down the other suggested settings tonight.
Here is a link to my Dxdiag info (http://www.gfg06.dial.pipex.com/screenshots3/dxdiag.txt).
-
Had no crashes once Terrain Detail was turned off. This could be the root of the issue for some of us? Something changed since 2.26 patch to 2.27 that shouldnt have been for terrain graphics?
-
HT is looking for some additional crash information. If you're getting a crash can you open up the details in the crash dialog and scroll down to the Exception Code and Exception Offset fields and report what is listed there? In the screenshot below, the fields we need are highlighted in blue.

Thanks Pyro,
Just chiming in... I had many crashes last night too, same symptom. I was unable to complete any flights (which is normally caused by other players!)
Ill try again tonight and forward the info you.
I also realized that I cannot hear any enemy planes, I can hear friendly planes. Got shot down/ snuck up on many times like that. Ill post this in a new thread.
Thanks.

Had 4 CTDs last night and some bad stuttering at times. Flew in Beta only a little (on same settings) and had no problems. Crashed twice, while attacking high B-17s over the strat. Terrain detail shouldn't be a hit at 25k, so maybe it's something else. :headscratch:

I've been trying to get to the bottom of my CTD problems. Yesterday when I logged in to the NDI Isles map there weren't many players on yet and the only action was in tank town. So I upped at A22 and flew over to V23. I usually stay away from TT as its a bit of a pickfest. A minute or two after reaching V23 the game became stuttery and then crashed. Disabled the bump mapping options and tried the same route again with the same result. Today I tried to reproduce the same thing, so I upped at the same field and again it crashed near V23. After that I upped elsewhere and flew a couple of flights lasting a combined 30-40 minutes with no problems. Went back to V23 twice more and it CTD'd both times within a minute or two of getting there.
When the CTD occurs I get a white screen and a box saying: "Aceshigh.exe has stopped working. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." There is a "close program" button, but no way I can see to get a data dump. Also the mouse isn't working so I have to either hit the Windows key, or if that does not work, do a ctrl-alt-del to get task manager and then the mouse back. Then I can click on the close program box to clear the problem.
I checked in Windows event viewer to see if that could shed any light on it. The data for one of the events is shown below, the other four crashes all had the same exception and offset codes except for the last one, which was the only one flown with patch 1. That crash had an offset code of 0x0018a68f. Also there are some similar pre v2.27 events with the same exception code but different offset codes dating back to last year. So I guess this is not a new version bug and it is just an unhappy coincidence I picked that specific area for my first flight in the new version.

Just tried flying near V23 offline and it worked fine. Flew around for 15 minutes shooting drones with no problem.
I wonder if this could be an issue related to the tanktown object group that is near V23?
-
When i was playing the error was occuring over Tank Town itself but i didnt try flying anywhere else.
-
This thread (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,327724.0.html) also has someone getting crashes over tank town. Another common feature is all three of us are using Nvidia cards, either GTX 460s or a 260 in my case.
-
I had several discos so I quit flying. The automatic hires download in the background seemed to be the issue. I downloaded it separately. Seems to have fixed things.
-
I downloaded the hires textures seperately before going online, so that's not the issue for me. If the event viewer output's correct it looks like I've had this CTD prior to 2.27 anyway.
-
I've crashed to desktop every sortie over Tank Town, before and after the patch. I use Nvidia graphics card as well, GTX 550 ti. Downloaded the hi-res textures separately. I could fly anywhere on the map but TT. Haven't flown on the new map yet to see if I'm still getting crashes, or if it was just TT.
-
Thaks guys, I flew last night and had no more of the above problems. That was after teh second small patch downloaded. You guys are always impressive, Keep it up!
Now... to just stay alive...
-
I was crashing to desktop as well, but I deleted the game completely and started over from scratch. It seems to work fine now. Im actually getting a better FPS rate. :noid

Just had one:

Yesterday I was working on the crash issue and it is the top priority to find.
Please keep posting the crash information when it differs from a previous 1.
also please state what windows version and what video card.

I've made a text file listing all the PC application crashes I've had dating back to September last year, which was when I installed a new HDD. Apart from the AH ones, there are a couple of MSIE crashes, an AHedit.exe and an Nvidia app crash. Also one from the AH Beta, which I don't recall, but would have been offline. They all have the same exception code, so I kept them all in the text file as that might be significant.
The AH crashes would probably have all been in the LWMA so I figured you might be able to cross reference the times with what map was up then, to see if the problem was map specific. Note the times shown are BST (GMT+1) during September and October and GMT after that.

dxdiag.txt (http://www.gfg06.dial.pipex.com/screenshots3/dxdiag.txt)
BTW flew for an hour or so tonight on the new map with no problems.

I started having the same problem after the update. Does not say "host connection lost" or anything, AH just crashes.
I can provide any specific numbers from my system if you guys need, but given the number of people that I having these problems I don't think that my computer has anything to do with it.
After the last update crashes seem to have stopped.

Posted my crash info before:
I am Win7 + Nvidia Geforce 460 GTX V2
-
Was having crashes until deletion of the game and desktop icon (forget who mentioned it), then reloaded from scratch and no crashes since. Remember to save important settings like terrains, sounds, skins and stick settings to your desktop before trying this.

There's a test version out. See this post please.

Had another CTD. Guess reloading the game doesn't help after all. :(
