It seems that lately people have answered me in pictures.  I don't really understand where you're coming from.  Candy-*** how does that even make sense?

@wil3ur, the pictures, they dont't stop!  What are you trying to tell me?

Penguin, I think the problem is that in the context of a cartoon airplane computer game forum, most of your posts come off as nothing more then intellectual feather strutting.

This is more like the bar where people go to chew the fat, laugh at idiots, talk sports and gossip after work... not an Oxford or Cambridge sitting room where mustached men in tweed jackets sit smoking pipes discussion the finer points of Nietzsche, Heidegger and Jung.

In short, your style of recent threads do not really fit in here.  If you're really interested in these types of discussion, and not just "look at me I'm a smarty-pants",  then I'm sure in the world of the great big wide internet you can find several forums where deep philosophical discussion is more welcomed.  Not saying the folks here couldn't handle it, I just think this is more of a "fun" place, and most people don't carry on those type of conversations for fun.

It's the censored version.  I wouldn't want to distract you from your critical thinking.  You can say "ass" too.  No filter here.

BTW stop kidding yourself.  An AP class you have been taking for a semester hasn't not in any way shape or form changed how you think about things.  As much as your teachers may want to make you think like they do, they can't.  You either think a certain way or don't.  I taken AP World, AP US, AP US Gov, AP Lang, AP Lit, AP Comp Sci, AP Physics C, AP Calc.  I have sat (and slept) through the BS that my History and English teachers have tried to enlighten me with.  I haven't even gone over WWII in any of my High School classes.  They cut it as it is not important and doesn't show up on the AP or state exams.  It is assumed that everyone just should know it magically.  White is innocence (except in Heart of Darkness), yellow means crime, this is an allusion.... blah blah blah ect...  No one learns critical thinking in an English class we learn what the teachers have created in their minds as important words stringed together with higher meaning.  It requires some sort of thinking.  I can't seem to decipher it just make up stuff slap it down on your essay and put some shellac down for good measure.

Personally I think it is far fetched to say that English and History will teach you critical thinking to be an Engineer.  There is a highly abstract form of thinking involved in those classes but it is nowhere near precise enough.  If you truly want to get some of that critical thinking take Comp Sci and the highest Physics classes you can. That is the only place where you can find some inkling of challenge in high school. Computer Science is an art everything does exactly what it is supposed to nothing more no BS.  If your school offers Physics C I challenge you to take it, get some real critical thinking involved.

I wouldn't recommend you go to flame warriors. Perhaps a google search could land you somewhere better.

I've learned more in the last 2 years of being homeschooled than I did in my 9 years of public school.

I see your point; those who are older are all set and don't have a need for nuance.  I want to find a forum that has a Skuzzy around to keep things civil.  Any places you know of?

Repetition is repeated.

Regardless, you still clicked it.
