Title: Field Guns Disappear = ghost when zoomed
Post by: Chilli on January 29, 2012, 07:17:51 PM

Above you can see the shape of the field gun, that disappears as you zoom in more.  When zoom out gun becomes solid again.  When zoom in, gun disappears completely ( shown bellow).

Zoomed in more and gun is completely gone.  The same as if it was distant.  Might explain my difficulty in differentiating downed guns and operational guns (shown as a small grey dot as viewed from above - not pictured her).  Level of detail is missing and close range.  I experimented with graphic detail sliders full and off and same result.  I can see the emplacements better or worse, but the guns themselves are no different at any level of detail setting.

Above screen shows the gun is masking the shaded area as background in an outline cutout exposing the concrete behind.

Title: Re: Field Guns Disappear = ghost when zoomed
Post by: Chilli on January 29, 2012, 07:29:55 PM
This is the closest to what I have observed from doing a search topic.  However, in my case, zoom does not help, especially from the air, only small grey dots for auto ack.  Black dots for 37 and larger guns are a bit easier to see.  Anyone else seeing the same thing or am I dealing with a hardware issue?

something is up with the draw distances on some things.

i few over the cruiser at 2000feet and didnt see ANY guns. if i zoomed in MAX i could see them, but before this patch i could see the guns from like 10000, unzoomed.

and the stealth ships is funny too, sometimes they just disappear and reappear
