After you file you can go to IRS.gov, click the "Where's my refund" link, put in info
and Boom, you get an estimated date that you'll receive your refund.

I think they started doing this over the last two years... also, people seem to be favoring E-filing now as it's easier and quicker (both in terms of your time and time 'til you recieve your refund).
I don't know yet if I'm even getting ar efund or not this year, I should probabley get crackin'.

I got a whopping 297 dollars on the way. :/

Here in Ireland I filed my returns online for the first time last year. They don't have a 'Where's my refund' on our system. So when I got a letter from the revenue in the mail a few days later. I was a bit worried. Until I saw a cheque for the equivalent of $3200. I nearly fainted.
Then I started to worry I had filled it in wrong :noid Too late the money is spent!

It is their fault for not checking your math. :D

Just one year, where you have to pay them a few bucks, and you'll spend the rest of your life gratefuler than you can imagine to just break even. True story.
