Title: fire all guns
Post by: lulu on February 06, 2012, 07:17:09 AM
As to me 'fire all guns' does not working well. It is not so effective as it could be.

Yea, I wish all guns would fire no matter what. Kind of sucks when coming off a dive bombing run then immediately firing on another plane in the pull-out and only two (out of six) of my 50's fire. The fire-all-guns option needs to fire all guns and not just the ones selected in the primary and secondary weapons display boxes.

Sounds like you're not switching the secondary weapon back to guns after you drop your bomb, do that and all forward firing guns will fire.

I think the OP has a point, when mapped "fire all guns" should either fire all guns (even without changing the secondary weapon), or the command should be relabeled to "fire selected guns".

when mapped "fire all guns" should ... fire all guns (even without changing the secondary weapon)

Good point, fire all guns should of course do exactly that, no matter what secondary weapon currently is selected.

I practice ammo conservation and will normally fire my weapons in banks anyways, especially in a mixed cannon/mg setup.

That's a good tactic wil3ur; except for the example situation smoe gives where you just finished dropping ord in a dive but forgot to switch the secondary back to guns. In that case you are in a BnZ type of firing solution and would most likely want the weight of all your guns for a quick snapshot.

+1 - fire all guns should do just that, no matter what the selected secondary is.

When I  fire with 2 guns then I get more kills then when i fire with all guns options.
Consuption of ammo seems unbalanced when It uses fire all guns option.

set them all to point convergence

check how many rounds you have in each gun.

from the above, $10 says you fly the pony alot :)
