Title: "aceshigh.exe has stopped working"

I was online and the ~ key was not expanding my text buffer.

I logged out and rebooted.

Now, when I try to get back on line, I get "aceshigh.exe has stopped working."

The program works offline. I reinstalled the last update executable. Still the same problem.

Windows 7.

Started about 1:00 CST.

Edit: Complete reinstall of AH 2272.exe - still getting same message.

Edit 2: Allowed Ace High.exe through firewall.

Looked at a technical info page and it is characterized by Windows as an APPCRASH. Not sure of the implication.

Still getting same message.

Got Tech Support on the phone.

I renamed my settings folder, and the program worked fine.

Thanks for the help.

I'll make an attempt at zipping my old folder and sending it to HTC.

By the way, just send the original 'settings' folder, not the entire game installation.

Also note, it is not unusual for the '~' to be trapped/altered by other applications these days.  Simply go into the games Options->Controls->Map Keys panel and use the "Fix Key" button to correct the issue.
