It is with deep regret that I have to announce the passing of hgCeech a member of the 365th-fbg Hell Hawks of Aces High II on 2-18-2012 Ceech fought a long and hard battle with lung cancer and is now in a better place, pain free and no longer suffering. hgCeech was an original founding member of the 365th-fbg Hell Hawks, he served our great country during the Korean War time period in the US Navy as a radio operator on an LST, he was an FAA pilot, and love to play Aces High II flying his B-17 flying fortress, he was a mentor to many and a father figure to some, a brother to the members of the 365th FBG Hell Hawks. You will be truly missed but never forgotten. God speed and may you rest in peace until we meet again. The 365th-fbg Hell Hawks will be planning a memorial flight for hgCeech on 2-26-2012 at 3pm EST all are requested and invited to attend. ARENA will be posted at a later date. Most likely the training arena.

Sorry to hear your friend is gone, I didn't personally know him but losing a member of the community is always difficult.
Most likely the training arena.
If you let me know in advance, I can make sure your event in the Training Arena isn't interfered with. In addition, I can make some setting changes in the training arena to make it easier/better for everyone that attends.

Very sad news Dan...
I am acutely aware of the pain the Hired Guns are feeling
right now. We recently lost a squadmate ourselves.
One of my squad mates, pd37, summed things up
like this at the passing of our squaddie:
"Although this is a silly game we play, the
relationships we build over vox, and over
time are as real as they get."
I couldn't agree more.
Praying for him, his family and the Hired Guns during this
time... Will see you on the 26th. :salute

I have known Ceech since our days together in F.A. The massive bomber missions hitting the back base, the high flying ozone buff formations that made country's crumble. We spoke of life during those missions. I always knew the weather in the new york area as my trusted friend was always on to fly another run. i am saddened by his passing and he will be missed. :salute and :pray Jasonvette, NS_VETTE, TWC_VETTE, JERSY_JERK, PLAYMATE, MAKAYLA. Jason to my friends and i considered Ceech my friend.

Very sad news indeed. I knew HGcheech was getting on but he always sent me a salute when he saw me online. We both came from FA and he loved nothing more than putting together mass b17 missions with his squadron and his friends. I know he took great pleasure in discovering aces high and doing the same things as he did in FA with even more realism.
It seems like only a few weeks ago since his last salute, my deepest condolences to his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

I'd like to thank all of you for your kind words.
I've known Ceech [Phil] for many years he taught me how to fly in Air Warrior where he brought me into the Hired Guns. I've logged 1000 of hours over the years in B17's with him in Air Warrior,Fighter Ace and Aces High and is one of the reasons that I'm a CM today. He always encouraged me to do more within the squad and out side of it and lead me to believe I'm a better pilot than I really em. Those that had a chance to meet or know Ceech really had a true friend.
We have gone on many a road trip which all had to do with flying, one of the fondest memories is when we rented a motor home and went to the WWII Air Show in Reading PA. Dan bought him a flight on a crop duster watching him put on his goggles and leather helmet and climbing into the back seat for his ride. He had a grin from ear to ear and never stopped talking of that day. This is just one of the many memories I have to remember him by.
Ceech was their when you needed some helping words or just some laughs, he was more than a friend to me. I'm going to miss my wing-man for he has taken his final flight.
R.I.P my brother and wing-man.

GO NAVY! :salute
Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
Who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep,
Its own appointed limits keep.
Oh hear us when we cry to Thee,
For those in peril on the sea! Amen.
Eternal Father, lend Thy grace To
those with wings who fly thro' space,
Thro wind and storm, thro' sun and rain,
Oh bring them safely home again.
Oh Father, hear an humble prayer,
For those in peril in the air! Amen.
Oh Trinity of love and pow'r,
Our brethren shield in danger's hour,
From rock and tempest, fire and foe,
Protect them where so e'er they go.
Thus evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea! Amen.
GO NAVY!
Stand down Ceech....stand down.

It seems it is just as hard to lose a friend you have never met, as it is to lose the ones you have. HGDan, you have my deepest sympathies. Ceech was a gentleman and someone who was always fun to wing up with. He will be missed by everyone who flew with or against him in here.

Does anyone know if he was a QB? If so I will bring is name in at the next meeting.

As a member of the HellHawks myself, I'm not sure that words can surmise the loss that we are all feeling right now. The best that I can say here is to post a link to a video.
