So still working on my graphics issues, and was running down the checklist of stuff to do, and decided I'd check on my startup processes since I was looking a bit bloated (40 running). So I clicked the 'don't show Microsoft processes' button then hit deselect all, thinking this would get rid of all non-MS startup stuff. I restarted without checking, and then was unable to connect to the game. I quickly realized what happened and reenabled everything. Then manually deselected the processes I didn't want to run at startup. These are my saitek stuff, roxio drag and drop, java updater, google update services (don't even know where/when I got that installed), nero backup scheduler, my tversity media server, and my nvidia updater. Also got rid of installsheild scheduler, a couple more nero processes, and daemon tools.
All other MS Processes are active.
Anyways, after not being able to connect I uninstalled and reinstalled the program (now done twice). The second time I unistalled, shut down, then rebooted and reinstalled. Everything appears fine, I can connect to the Early War and Mid War and WWI arenas. When I attempt to connect to other arenas the map download begins as normal (including when I logged into EW/MW/WWI) however once the download completes it brings me back to the initial bootup screen and I have to log back in. Upon trying to reconnect, the map begins to download again and then I'm booted back out after upload finishes.
I've tried downloading the map being using in LW from the website and install it, however it's still trying to have me download the map when I sign in to the arena.
The main download link from the webpage won't work for me either. I had to use the alternate download. I get a cannot connect to the internet error when I attempt to download from the main link on the webpage

Same problem here at 11:00 est. Can log into ww1 but for MA the updater when finished sent me back to previous screen. Haven't played in 5 days so I missed updating till now. Server must have a problem. Oh well off to the boob tube.

Its 11 CST and Im connecting fine. Not sure how to fix your problem though. When this latest version came out I had the same issue but I think it straightened itself out (after I reinstalled and still got the same result and so on).
EDIT: Well after reading the Bugs forum something must be wrong somewhere.
-
Can't log into the MA either but all other arenas.
-
:cry
I just got back too..... just installed ah again yesterday. Glad to see someone else is having the same issue.
-
Must have been an Internet burp. Seems to be fine this morning.
-
I'm still having the same problem this morning. Map will 'download' and boot me right back out to the main menu. I've tried redownloading and installing the map from the HiTech Site and still nothing.
This link is also still broken: http://downloads.hitechcreations.com/AH2272.EXE

Have the same problem. Deleted the game and reinstalled. No go. Also I have to use the alternate download site. The primary site is not connecting. When I choose MA it loads the terrain but never advances to the MA. I can get into Midwar and TA though.
-
I used to be able to connect to the MA... then I took an arrow to the knee.
I'll be playing Skyrim *grumble*

If you still need the ozkansas terrain you can get it here.

Thanks FLS :salute
Problem seems to have been with the .fla file, there was none in the directory with the terrain. Placing that in the folder with it allowed me to enter just fine. Any chance you can put a zip up of all of them (.fla files)? I can put it in my terrain folder and hopeful get into the other arenas I'm having problems with too.
-
Definitely not an Internet burp. I spent 3 hours last night dealing with this. Thank god FLS had the correct files.
-
I have no idea what is going on with your computers. I just verified the ozkansas.fla file does install just fine when the terrain needs to be installed.
I also checked with two other players had them remove it and it worked fine for them as well.
What anti-virus are you running? Is the game installed in the "Program Files" folder?
-
Running AVG for antivirus, game is installed in C Drive, not Program files. The DA was also giving me problems over the weekend, however it downloaded fine on Sunday. Not sure what's up.
-
I am not a big fan of AVG, Kaspersky, Norton, or McAfee. I have had problems with all of them interfering with the game, at one time or another.
Every time the game data patterns change a new set of problems with anti-xxxx software arises. Very frustrating.
Just because any given anti-xxxx software works for one game release. does not mean it is not going to break for the next release.

I think something wierd happened Saturday. I hadn't played for 4 days previous and tried to log in MA 11:00 pm est. Sunday I was able to load the file no problem. The Oz/kansas file seemed slightly larger when finally did load on Sunday.
I only run Microsoft security essentials.
-
Seems pretty simple. Downloading the file either via the game or from the website didn't work. The game kept trying to download the file and failing. If my memory is correct, the .fla file was not there.
Putting in the correct files fixed the problem right away.
I'm leaving out the 3 hours I spent uninstalling and reinstalling the map, then the game, finding an old copy of the map file, chewing my fingernails off, developing a nervous twitch, then throwing my computer through a window and trying it all again.
-
^^^ ME TOO! :rofl
-
Skuzzy for some reason the ozkansas terrain would not install on Saturday. I tried on my old PC and had the same problem Rapier, wil3er, and others did. It would repeatedly download then exit to desktop without installing. I copied the terrain file from my game PC, downloaded prior to Saturday, and that fixed it so I posted the files and that fixed it for various people. It seems likely it was a download issue and not anti-virus in this case.
-
There are only two things it could have been. An Internet burp (a good possibility), or a local computer issue. Internet burps do not have to impact everyone. It just depends where the burp is/was.
It is a pretty straight forward issue.
I deleted the terrain files from my home computer and it came down fine.
-
I understand it works now. :aok
Does the auto downloader use the same file copy as the website download page? It seems odd that the manual download from the website also didn't work on Saturday night.
-
Yes, I downloaded from both the website, and in game. It took the posting of a .fla file for it to work. This issue mysteriously corrected itself by Sunday evening I was able to download the DA map ingame and had the .fla file supplied.

The files are all fed from the same server. If there was some type of Internet oddness, then it would impact any delivery of any of those files, regardless of the port used. That is why I first suggested it might have been some type of Internet burp.
