Title: New class
Post by: pallero on February 19, 2012, 05:00:29 AM
Is it a good idea to have a new class?
Now we have fighters, bombers, attacker's and gvs.
We need a support class.

Transport / support / observe class (you name it), which includes C-47, Storch, M3 (not the cannon version), and LVT2.

Now we have lots of players, who don't fly C-47 because they afraid of for their bomberranks. And same reason for Storch's and M3's for gv ranks.

If we have this new class, we have more support for players and we don't have to wait for one brave player to bring troops for town capturing.
And if you want to be one of the top pilots of Tour, you have to run some supplies and capture towns too.

Don't worry about score....

If that's why you won't run troops or supplies.

May as well make then "Ship's Gunners".

+1. Would be a great opportunity to introduced the LST, maybe let them carry a pair of tank tanks, upto Panther in size, but only 1 Tiger I or Tiger II.

I officially put my seal of approval on this idea.

I'd like a transport class-- M3, C-47, and Jeep fall into that class, and I think something else. The C-47 hardly qualifies as a bomber... until we get the Poor man's Bomber :devil

if you want a different class, you probably want to score it too.  how would you score things like resupplying bases, storch, etc.  and if the motive is not score then why bother having one anyway?  and do you really want a category for things where you cannot damage things? so the best player would be somebody that ups and bails the fastest?  who dropped more supplies?  would really be a joke to put it on the main page.  xxx got #1 ranked because he upped dropped a zillion flares on runway then bailed.

It might be nice to give the "support" team some (realistic) perks for doing what they want to.

Using EVE online as a concept, it greatly rewards the "miners" for what they do, even though they have little ability in the combat sense.  Yet plenty do that in that game.

resupplying a base gets you more perks than getting kills in the same amount of time.
