I think it's cool that I can patiently wait to dive on a slightly distracted wirblewind, take out his turret, and during my egress in excess of 400+ mph in my P51, he can shoot me down after using supplies to get a brand new turret instantly installed with the click of a button. :noid
What's next, aircraft supplies to instantly repair your aircraft after getting a wing shot off? Sweeeet! :x
Everyone enjoy!

I hear a ground crewman will climb up on your wing with Irish Coffee and Scones while your ride repairs itself.
-
I think there should be a delay while repairs /reload just like on a rearm pad. However I can live with it the way things are.

pand that is so hard to do that I dont think it really happened. when a werbie picks up supplies he must jump out of position then jump back then reacquire target. in those couple of seconds a pony should be really out of range and if you actually got shot down, then you deserve to get shot down, sorry.

The plane would have to be egressing the same direction as the hull on the flak was pointing.

Probably got whacked by a second unseen wirble.

Or 37 or 88. Like semp said, there is just no way to pick up sups and get back on target to make the shot.

Thanks all for the support! <S>

You sure you took out his turret?
-
6x50's straight down in his chili and saw smoke, so pretty sure :)

I question why GV have instantly repairs by one click (if there are GV supplys near by). The icon range has been shorten to make it harder to spot them, well, for most people that is. I can still spot them 8,9,10K high and drop on them. So, why can AC get them to? Why not have repaires done on the rearmed pad where they can have oil, fuel leak, guns, arilion, rudder, elevator and engine repaired?

Could've been its engine. It smokes if you take it out I believe.
-
it would be nice when on the re-arm pad not only re-arm the plane but do repairs to the aircraft too.

I agree! i have seen smoking WW but their gun still function.

+1
And how about using a selectable amount of perk points for those repairs? Like covering bullet holes or fixing leaking hoses with ductape - 1 point per each fix. Proper repairs 5 points each.

Why perk points for repairs?

Pony Down............... :D

Because you didn't break the guns in the turret, you dove in, the men manning the gun saw you, jumped out and ran for it. Your tracers ignited some of the lubricant for the guns, the men ran back into the gun, put out the fire, cranked the turret over and shot you down. :D
Or, the Wirble was supporting some infantry, the plane dove and killed the gunners, the infantrymen not wanting to die by strafing ran over to the wirble and shot you down.
There's plenty of scenarios to explain the game mechanics.
However, traveling at 400 miles per hour in a P-51 after a dive means you're traveling in excess of a kilometer per second. I'm sorry to say it.. but film or it didn't happen.
At 400 miles per hour you would be out of range of the wirble you had shot in less than 2 seconds. (~1.5 kilometers) 400 MPH = 643.someodd KPH. 600 KPH = 1 KPS
Even going by good reaction times I find it highly unlikely that a wirble driver would be able to:
1: Realize his turret has been hit.
2: Bring up the clipboard in order to enable his mouse to click on supplies.
3: Supplies load, deactivate clipboard.
4: Find the plane that shot at him.
5: Return fire.
Therefore I find it far more likely you were hit by a second wirble, an 88, or a field ack.

or he got hit before the killed the turret and blow up as he was flying away. it has happened to me.

Whirbles have been known to smoke and still be able to shoot and move.
I've always figured it was 4:20.

I can agree with this... why do vehicles get special treatment when aircraft do not? Either all get repairs or all don't. Hell, maybe even throw a 30 sec timer in there while it's happening ;P

Nothing says he killed the turret..... smoked the engine and the wirb kept shooting.

I'm glad this thread got some more action today---- last night I was slightly disappointed it didn't quite get the flame I expected.

:huh :headscratch:
you forgot a 60
1km/s = 3600 km/hr

Are you sure? I know I'm the last person on the planet to resort to teh mathz for anything but I'm pretty sure I didn't screw that one up.
...scribble scribble scribble... scribble scribble scribble :headscratch:
Okay so my math is really bad. I study History, not Math. The number are already done for me in history.
So he's going .1 Kp/s Which means 15 seconds from start point to out of range... Okay then yeah it's feasible the wirble shot him down after grabbing supplies.
Now to figure out how I got 1 KP/s to start with...
