Which would you recommend?
I've been hanging out on the Help Channel trying to help out some of the new guys lately. Had a guy ask for an inexpensive stick recommendation yesterday. He is interested in Aces High, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money on gear right now.
What's an ok stick for somebody not wanting to spend more then say $30-$40?

Logitech 3d Pro - its 30-40$ if you buy it from bestbuy get the warranty so you can get free replacements, Its a good fix until you decide to buy a CH/Saitek/Thrustmaster.

Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X for two hand maneuverability. I have used both this and the above mentioned Logitech Extreme 3d pro. I miss many of the thumb buttons of Logitech, but on the other hand (pun intended) I have something to do with my other hand. Mixing the two would be ideal for me.

Thrustmaster T16000 is the way that I would be going if I needed a good quick stick to have as a backup. Same sensors as what they have in the WARTHOG and its cheap. Also seems to be relatively easy to mod into something else.
<-----currently taking a look to see if I can build a set of USB rudders and another control box using one that is cannibalized. Already killed two before I got some initial problems out of the way.

I use the Logitech 3dPro like this:

I'd go with a Saitek ST290 pro. They used to be about $25-30 at Walmart. I like those for a cheap backup as they have a larger throttle lever, and a pinky switch.

Saitek V1 Cyborg, costs 20 bucks, sturdy, easy to use, but only 7 buttons. But I only need a few anyway. Hat views as well. I use one for WEP, two for flaps, one for zoom, trigger for primary, one for secondary, and one for the clipboard. It also has a small throttle control which is very handy. You can also remove the base, so it's surprising small.
I also have a HOTAS X I can sell for 40 bucks, brand new used for 3-4 hours. It just didn't fit my hand when I bought it (my fingers couldn't reach the buttons on top without stretching). They go for $50.

T16000 all the way...hall sensors for a fraction of the price :aok
I'm using one, even tho I own a CH and a X65, like it so much I bought another in case this one dies :)

Using Saitek X52. Great for Microsoft FS9, Carrier landings and designer download aircraft. Does't feel right for combat. Any suggestions for something a little better? Cost not to big a deal I have seen the price ranges just not sure which one to try. I like one to match the P51 or P39, maybe the P-40. usb777

These things are great. Only stick I've ever owned and I've only owned one. Been using it since '07-'08 and I've never had a single problem ever.
