Well, I hope to bust the typical GD rants with something constructive.... lol. I figured we are seeing some new names and one of the things I did, as a new guy, was ping folks on how they set up their rig. So, here is how I have my X-52 pro set up:
Throttle Quad:
Airplane GV
Throttle: Throttle Range for adjustable sights
Hat: Flaps up/down Wep Vehicle position jumps
Top Button: Combat trim on/off Ammo select
Button "D": Zoom Zoom
Horizontal Slider: Brakes Both
Round slider: Cockpit view L/R
Stick:
Lower hat: views along horizontal plane same
Upper Hat: views along vertical plane GV driving controls
Pinky switch: Up elevator trim
Tigger: fire pri/alt fire pri/alt
Button "A": Voice Range Voice Range
Button "B" Ventrillo Ventrillo
Button "C" Weapon select secondary
Fre button Voice Channel Voice channel
I have screwed around with dome of the other features, but I have found it easier just to hit a key instead of mapping some of the other keys. The definate money makers are mapping the flaps and wep to where the can be rapidly managed as well as the elevator trim and combat trim on/off allowing you to control dives at a much higher speed than with them. For example diving a K4, compression sets in, up elevator trim to get descent angle, hit combat trim to stop the up nose trim/repeat until on deck and on 262s six.
Anyone else care to share their layout?

I really don't have anything fancy rigged up. I have a Thrustmaster Hotus and I've really only changed a few things.
On the joystick I did this.
Button 1: Range vox
Button 3: Channel vox
On the throttle I did this.
Button 7: WEP
Other than that I use my keyboard for everything else. But I'm rarely ever in a plane so I don't have to worry about trim and all that crap.
For GV's I use pretty much the default setup since it's layed out to use the left side of the keyboard. the 1,2,3 keys for views are on the left along with the W and S keys for accelerating and stopping (I turn with the twisty on my joystick) and the Z key for zoom. The only thing not over there is backspace for changing my ammo type. I never carry anything but AP though so I don't need it.

I turned my keyboard upside down on my desk then i shook it to remove some of the stuff between my keys. I put the keyboard back and with my hand made a pile of all the crap that came out of it then went to the bathroom. when I came back my gf was mad at me thinking I was doing lines on my desk :rofl.

Had my pinky switch set for zoom but would hit it inadvertently when fighting, really messed me up.
CH stick has a nice set of hats and buttons.

I got them about two weeks ago....get ready for a huge change. I know it's for the best but I'm miserable getting used to them. If you are going to get them, get it out of the way now.

Track IR, so I don't really use any of the hat switches.
And, of course rudder and wheel brakes are mapped to the rudder pedals.
