I have a small collection of WW2 newspapers. One announcing VE-Day, now this. True to form, no one had ever heard of Pearl Harbor so simply announced as US Bases. Pretty happy about this. Don't dare crack it open to read the rest of the paper.

Might want to get those clips off it and seal with/under  something?

Very cool.  I suggest to get them covered with something, I'm no guru when it comes to preserving newspaper prints, but almost anything is better than the open air.

Very Cool!

Its actually a rather inexpensive (depending on the subject) way to collect WW2 stuff....... Ive framed them and hung them on the wall in my home office (out of any possible sunlight)

very cool, wish I could find something like that.  I have found newspapers from late 1800s under clapboards on some houses before, but withouth stripping of a buch I have never been able to get a whole paper

Whoa, I had no idea you could get such a great find for that little money! Very nice! I will have to make some purchases in the near future.  :)

Yep, funny thing is the framing usually costs more than the newspaper itself, depending on how fancy you get.

I've got a sweet scan of a VE paper we did at my shop for a guy.  Some of the little blurbs are what's the most interesting...

RUSS PLANES ATTACK DANISH ISLE
COPENHAGEN, May 8 (INS) -- Russian air forces renewed their attacks today on German ships in the harbors of Roenne and Nekos, on the Danish Island of Bornholm, in the Baltic Sea.

Wait?!  I thought it was VE day?!  Why are the Russians still attacking?  :devil

No.  Finland sued for peace well before VE day.

Russia fighting Finland would have very little to do with them dropping bombs on the German Navy.

Germany signed a separate surrender to the USSR that didn't go into effect until the 9th.
May 9th (Victory Day) is a huge holiday in Russia, there's still a big parade in Red Square every year.
were they still fighting Finland?
Finland dropped out in September 1944
