Title: ability to use self made terrain in custom arena

There may be a way to do this (it's late and I'm tired) but is there a way to use a terrain I've built (its not much so don't get excited) in the custom arenas?  To the best of my figuring, if I wanted to do a squad training night and sent the terrain file to everyone involved and had them install it on their system in the correct folder, shouldn't we all be able to use that map in the custom arena? 

If anyone know of how to make this happen please let me know and I'll end this thread now.

If not I'll officially add this as my wish.  Since we are creating terrains with HTC software this would be a good way to "beta test" new terrains before submitting it to HTC.  It may also be a way to get more involvement in the custom arenas.

Yes, you can upload your terrain in the custom arena. Once it passes the checks in the terrain editor you can go online and upload it. I'm not at my gaming rig, so can't get the details at the moment.

That makes sense.  Mine hasn't passed the test completely yet.  This is my first foray into terrain building (probably my last) and I first wanted something I could try out the editor with and maybe have as a training area.  I didn't spend much time fixing my errors since I knew I would never submit it to HTC for approval.

Thanks for the help.  I'll check into my fixes and see what happens.

Climber you can do all with out us involved. There is an option on your start menu "Terrain resource builder" this builder will send your terrain to the host and you can then use it in custom arenas. We do not have to approve it, but as was said above, it must pass all checks in the terrain editor to be able to upload it. This is because some things can cause host problems if they are not fixed.

Thanks HITech for the help.  I was able to get it to upload into the Terrain resource builder.  Now going I'm going to go looking for it.  Is there a delay to expect for it to appear as a selectable arena?

You choose the upload to host from the Terrain resource builder?

Try it now once, it may have been us forgetting to update the sever that handles those uploads.

still nothing.

Just checking but the map name is "77train".  Would having a number at the beginning of the name mess things up?  Spitballing here for troubleshooting sake.

Does the uploaded say it is building, and then show all the files it is uploading?

I don't believe the numbers would cause trouble, But I don't believe we have any others that do have numbers at the beginning.

I can help you more monday when I check the debug files on the host.

There is an additional check box in the buildter.exe dialog window that you must set before it will upload. Look for it. Hope that was your problem.

Now i'm getting "Build Terrain is out of date" error when uploading. 

You're right Easyscor this darn thing is addicting...
