Title: Latest instructions on using ships guns
Post by: TDeacon on March 02, 2012, 05:11:30 PM
Any links to up-to-date instructions on using ships guns?  This for

a)  5" AA (adjustment of fuse ranges, etc.), and
b)  8" and 5" shore bombardment.  I vaguely remember some sort of map mode capability.  (EDIT:  OK, "home-features-manable guns" seems to cover item (b), unless there is more up-to-date information somewhere)

Thanks,
MH

OK, on further examination, I still do need an answer from HTC for *both* (a) and (b).

My Q, W, and E keys don't seem to function as described in the on-line "manable-guns" section after all, and it's not clear how to get a high-res map of a location you are not on, for shore bombardment (like someone else's base).  BTW, the 3 keys mentioned above are mapped correctly in my AH client.

Off the top of my head, not a big bombarder myself:  Switch modes Land, Sea, Manual? with shift q ctrl q and q I think, not sure which does which but experiment, it says what your in in the gun info.  Type of round AA or HE select with backspace key, not fuse setting on anything AA are proximity fueses go bang when radar tells them, or rf or pigeons or something (google proximity fuse)  You can see trail of HE rounds usefull for adjusting range.  Land mode is the mode that uses the map, get into land mode expand the map and click where you guess the rounds should fall.  Then zoom in and watch where rounds fall making adjustments with joystick, you will see the range change in gun text.  Sea mode is similar but no map so you have to start guessing the range to start.  Also there is a yellow reticle? which is where the rounds are going and then there is this white cross reticle which is for making adjustments etc.  For somereason whenever I get in the guns the white reticle,(which is where your center of vision is,) is always all the way over to one side or the other and I have to move it to line up with the yellow with the mouse, I can't remember if I have to close the clipboard or open it or press H but experiment and you'll get it.
