Howdy again.
I having serious problems as a 24/7/365 caregiver being able to fly for any period of time and, somehow she knows when I am in the middle of a dog fight, and here comes the call on the walkie-talkie.
I have been thinking about going to bed at 8PM, flying at about 2-3 AM, and then going back to sleep. Calls can still come, they would be less frequent.
So...It would be GREAT to have a stand alone "Aces High" game with AI being able to be set at different levels, etc. where one could but hit "pause" and then return later.
For me personally, just being able to select the AI enemy fighter pilots skill level, number of enemies, starting altitude, and enemy plane type would be outstanding!
Any hope?
Respecfully,
PS - I did a search on "Boxed" and "Stand Alone" with no success.

Offline missions.

offline missions are your friends, but you can't pause them.
In any case I'm afraid the game you are looking for isn't aces high, as it is a pure multiplayer game
-
They are my ONLY friend in this game :cry :D
You can't pause them, no, but it's relatively easy to trim yourself to fly in a constant circle... Especially if you're flying a plane with a gunner.

I was, up until very recently, in the same position that you are.
If you do not have anyone to relieve you (in my case I had my wife to help) then flying during the times that the person that you are caring for is most likely to be sleeping will be your best bet for anything other than offline missions.
Good luck and remember, regardless of how demanding they can be (which they usually are), what you are doing is very noble and appreciated (even though the person you are taking care of may not show it all or any of the time)
Stay strong and good luck :aok

Double up on what Von said :aok Very noble indeed. Also, give the early a.m. flight a try. Hopefully your patient is resting well, fully content from loving attention all day. Even if there is a few interuptions during this time, no biggee the Aussies and Euro crowd are more than willing and pretty dang grateful to shoot your AFK craft down. I find some of my most memorable and fun times are flying with this bunch.....
Somethin' about the way they great ya with a hearty G'Day mate or some other light hearted banter. This game can be a nice distraction sometimes, and sometimes you can easily get it flipped to where life is the distraction.
Just hit auto pilot and see how far off the map you can cruise afk, and even more fun how many will chase you :D

As others have said, offline missions is the way to go. Even though there is no pause you can increase the level by creating a new mission with same plane set and adding more planes to fight. At one time I had a 4vs1 mission that I kept just modifying the plane set for to get better at flying different planes.

Thanks Guys.
As you know it's not easy and I fall short of what I could / should do.
I am not an  or I'd be smiling all the time, the house would be immaculate and everything that should be done, would be.
I do try.
Thanks again,
