No, it is real. That is the experimental AC. The navy where not please of the X-Wing's performance, pilot can not see their six at all and they have not yet figure out on making lasers to work.

Here's some fun things I did a while back (Skuzzy don't pwn me):
Replaced the La7's engine sound with one of a Tie Fighter - http://filmsound.org/starwars/tie.wav
Added Xwing laser sounds instead of the P51-D's 50cal guns http://www.sa-matra.net/sounds/starwars/XWing-Laser.wav
It was for a joke a while back, but don't post them under soundpacks - its for personal use only :)

Yeah I made a post around 2006 doing it, except Skuzzy booted me off for a week because well...those sounds are not mine :D

Ya I made the same but used the xwing engine for the LA7 w/ laser sounds. Found I burned thru the clip to fast though :)

I wish I found that GIF image of the X-wing that used a model rocket engine to blast off in the air, someone doctored the photo to have a Tie Fighter vulch it.

Yes fake... did not happen till August of '44.

It was actually a first contact scenario and that X-Wing is now in Area 102; the newest and most secret advanced alien weapons technology are kept there before being moved to Area 51. Area 102 is also how to the only surviving example of the Tie-D (aka Tie Defender) which has been under going testing by the various nations of the world for an advanced space defense weapon system to protect us when the rogue planet; Nibiru; returns later this year.
The X-Wing tried to make a landing on the only available space since it was loosing power and too far from land and its repulsor lift capability was damaged in a fight with space craft from Nibiru just before it jumped to Hyperspace.
