180a8 eny; she was 31 couple yrs back, now its 25. I think 27 would be a happy median. :pray
-
I would agree. Not quite worthy of ENY 25, at least not in the air superiority role.

in its element its a fine plane. it's not as bad as everyone thinks. all the 190s do everything well.......except turn. there's a reason they do so well in scenarios. with the proper altitude and squadron numbers they can be a truly dominant force. in other words, in their element. i'll probably be flamed to death for saying this, but i am of the opinion that the 190s are modeled just fine; just as well as any other aircraft in the planeset. they won't turn with a spit16 or a n1k or an F4U, and that's fine, because they were never meant to. 25 ENY is about perfect for an A8 IMO, especially when considering it's versatility. 2 x 13mm, 2 x 20mm, and 2 x 30mm. or 2 x 13mm and 4 x 20mm. or a nice clean 2 x 13mm and 2 x 20mm. not to mention the ability to haul a 250KG or 500KG egg around. with the big gun package you can kill any bomber in the game, from any angle, in a single pass. as for fighters, forget about it. 1 hit and they usually come apart, if not outright explode. and as much as i might complain about getting ganged, ultimately i believe we are all responsible for whatever position we find ourselves in the MA. if you find yourself on the deck 6v1 while flying an A8, whether you like it or not, you put yourself there, not your airplane. and if you find yourself in that position, fly your butt off, but at the same time get ready to kiss it goodbye ;) long story short, all of the 190's have the correct ENY imo, and im of the opinion that the modeling is juuuust fine :aok
*whew!* 190 rant over... :uhoh

if so why was it 31 eny for more yrs than it wasnt

since i'm not the guy who decides what ENY is assigned to each plane, any answer i give you to this question would be pure speculation. that being said, i'm going to go ahead and speculate. 31 was too high of an ENY for such a versatile and capable aircraft, HTC recognized this and the ENY was adjusted to a more appropriate number. TA DA! ENY 25.

Isnt it totally equal, 25 or 27? The median of the two is 28 btw :lol

how many extra perks would you get by going from 25 to 27?

I agree. I've been flying the A8 a bit lately and have found that when flown to its strengths it is a very capable fighter. Excellent firepower and roll, decent speed and good high speed handling make it better than average IMO. One of the best bomber hunters in the game too. Just don't turnfight with it and you'll get kills. I would like to see the weight issue fixed if it is indeed currently inaccurate.

Versatility doesn't come into play for ENY IIRC. If it is also good at ground attack, I think its OBJ value goes down.

No, because ENY limits aren't based on OBJ. Look at the Bf110G-2, it's low ENY has to be mostly based on its air-to-mud abilities.
That said, there are a decent number of units that could use ENY adjustments.
-
Then what is OBJ? Does it serve any purpose in the game?
And agreed. IMO, the whole ENY system needs an overhaul.
-
OBJ governs how many perk points you get for destroying objects.
-
Then wouldn't it make more sense for versatility to be regulated with OBJ value? We could include that in with a reworked ENY.

A8 can turn with most things for a couple turns...starting with speed, that is. As long as you get your shot in a turn or two, that should be all you need. The guns are more than adequate...
Point is, it can do more than simply BnZ or HO...

An La-7 can do more than BnZ/Ho, heck it turns better then my 109, yet 90% of the players wont do anything else but BnZ then run when i finally can climb up.
Same with F4Us, even spixteens... seen a zeek trying to run away from my la-7 after he couldnt BnZ me! They learn it lightening fast, safer to run away, easyer than learn how to fight.
The 190s arent the best turnfighters, but when used appropiately, they can be real capable. Just dont play their cirkle-jerk game.

alot at least for me :t but either way i want to say it was the biggest down grade for a plane in AH but beer killed those memory neuron connections

well give me a percentage as I dont really understand the obsession with the eny/perks thingy. I dont fly any plane because it gives me perks. I fly because I have fun with them. and I dont have a shortage of perks to use whenever I want, as it is rare for me to fly perked planes.
just saying out of curiosity. does it give you like 10% more 100% more?

I agree with Irishone. It is perfect at 25 and I will not rant as he did, as I fly the 190s very sparingly. However, when I started playing AH back in 2008, I was a 190A8 NOOB and all I flew was the damn thing because of its gun package. I would HO HO HO away and loved it. As I became a better pilot (and I suck) I used it less and less. I never fly the DOra or A5 unless in the AvA or when I can get into and FSO. I usually use the 190F as my attack ride only because the rockets give you and added ounch when porking or hittin GVs. I used to use the Mossy or 110 for my Buff hunting sorties but have lately went to the A8 because of the gun package and it seems to take a little more punishment as far as the 190 series (maybe im just smoking crack when I say that lol). The A8 is a very fun plane to fly and you can rack up the perks in it. You GO IRISH, You GO!!!
