Title: Squelch
Post by: n3slo on March 11, 2012, 07:42:58 PM
Please ... for the love of GOD ... make the squelch a list that we can add/delete to/from.  There are so many clowns in the game that you cannot get a straight answer from and they think it's a real hoot telling everyone to "use alt f4". I see that there is now a check to make sure someone doesn't boot themselves out of the game, and thats great and all... but having to squelch the same bunch EVERY TIME YOU LOGIN is annoying at the least.
Not to mention the losers that try to disrupt comms ...
I vote for a perma-squelch ... please please please.

HiTech has said it won't happen because if Karnak is a real jerk and you permasquelch him and sometime after he quits a new guy joins and picks the name Karnak you'd have the new guy permasquelched and never know it.

I think we need HTC to set up something so we can squelch range. A lot of the time I go into a area that has a mass furball going on, I get huge lagg issues from it, and have to leave the area. It would be great if we had a button or command that would allow us to squelch range for a set amount of time just like squelching a person.

if that happens then dont complain about getting shot down because you didnt get a check six. as most people use vox rather than press a button.

Ez to fix.  Make each player (account) have unique ID number.  Bind THAT to list (not name).  Then it no matter what name is, it squelched by a unique account ID number.

This is one way that would actually work and I know its not to complicated - if the account is deleted then the unique ID disappears, so if someone new joins the game they won't have the same ID.

I'm good with using the unique ID, it would also be able to keep the dolts squelched if they change handles.

Let's see.  We don't want to fix the problem that does exist because it might cause an issue in the future.   I don't get the reasoning there.  I quite often log off due to the chatter on range.
