Title: all this talk about cvs
Post by: drfritz on March 12, 2012, 08:56:47 PM
Really easy fix on the cv problem......... If you do not own the base and have the cv that goes with it. there should be a timer on the cv, say 2 hours if you dont take the port back in that amount of time. the cv returns to what ever country has the port.. if the cv is on the other side of the map and the timer reaches  zero then the othe country just got a cv deep in enemy sector. fight on stop guys from hiding cvs . nothing like having a enemy cv gruop just show up right off a base....

Takes the fun out of flying Ar234s for 2 hours to blow the CV out of the water, good time to catch up on my reading or tetris playing.

2 hours....please make it 30 minutes or less. If you can't mount a retake strike on a port and retake it in less than 30 minutes then the carrier group changes to the enemy at that point. You can do a bunch of damage with a carrier inside of 2 hours and it can be sent way out of the way in that same amount of time. You want a game then do it right and make it change faster than it currently does but 2 hours is absolutely ridiculous.

Considering that a CV moves at a snails pace you can't do much with a CV in 30 minutes.

I'm against this idea in general. If the owner of the port wants the CV bad enough then mount a search for it. If there are people willing to fly hours on a bomber run then there must be guys willing to do the same to find and sink a CV. I can imagine the whines as a group using the CV to attack a base all of a sudden find themselves screwed out of their base of operations, especially if it was a Rook port taken by the Bish and the Nits have the CV.

Nah, enough people are getting tired of it I simply ask around and if someone wants to say so then they will. Either put the CV in play or watch it get sunk.

234ing CVs are fun. Did it for a living in The Final Battle, including flying across the entire North Sea to find them only to white screen to the desktop once we got close.
