Title: "Don't lose too many parts!" or why wingmen matter...
Post by: Guppy35 on March 15, 2012, 12:39:51 AM
Last flight of the night, and one for the books in terms of silliness :)

Our hero is found on the deck in his usual shot up 38G with 3 Zekes on his tail.  Clearly it's the Fall of 43 southwest of Rabaul.   As they continue to put holes in me, Soulyss comes charging in from their six.  As they are all concentrating on me, they don't see the leaking 38G behind them.

"Don't lose too many parts!" he says as he starts shooting.

Boom, down goes one.

Boom there goes the second before the other one is done blowing up.

Boom goes number three!

And I stagger back to New Guinea in my aerated 38 and no doubt a furious crew chief :)

I have to take issue with your "shot up" 38... You are only missing one rudder, sure there are some holes in the wings but you have both your ailerons, a full elevator, no fluids leaking. Obviously this was a brand new plane.

I'll bet it still has that "new bomber smell." Well, maybe not the cockpit, after what he left in the seat......  :lol

Have to agree it's not up to 80th RTB standards. :D Heck I bet you staggered home in worse shape than that just last night, Dan!

Ha we all staggered some in worse than that..... I staggered several into the water. lol

This three bang zeke fest was cause for lots of laughter on channel last night. Mostly because it is rare that the 80th survive even a run in with storches.

I don't understand this post. Who's getting called out? Name the zekes and we'll turn this into a proper thread. 3v2 zekes on 38's.... the nerve of some people. I demand names! We'll bash them, their squadron, and the horse they rode in on. :furious

I have the list right here..

Zeke #1 was 354685

Zeke #2 was 967523

Zeke #3 was numbr2

I may have misspelled all or one as we were laughing and I had trouble finding my crayon.

He probably landed and rearmed it.  Why exit a perfectly good 38?

Actually you are correct in that it was a look at me thread.  They were looking at me while Soulyss shot em :)

Heck, Ded, that is just good squad tactics. Of course as we are in the 38 parts business we relish the parts we shed. The crew chiefs on the other hand get a little miffed at us.
