I spent 30 days on Guam while in the Marines and I will say this, make sure you have a bag at the ready. When they call for an evacuation due to typhoon coming in they mean, evacuate. We got hit twice while I was there. But the land is beautiful, if you get the chance try out the skin diving tours at Fisheye Marine park. Also when you go in to Won Bat it is a blast, the first thing you say is, where the hell are we landing this plane??

The humidity is horrendous but the weather is beautiful year round. I loved the southern area around Coco's Lagoon, if i remember that's what it was called. You will enjoy your stay there and make sure you take in the local scenery. Have fun sir.

Please post as many pix as you are allowed to. I'd love to be doing that kind of thing. The subject is an interest of mine.

Apparently they found what appears to be another set of 'Hobbit' remains in Palau. Just read about it.. don't know how long ago this was. Who knows maybe we'll be stumbling upon some gnome bones  :D

Good luck. I spent 13 years in the Mariana Islands. Find what you can about why and how the Latte Stones were made...Maybe they were used as 'currencey' like the stones in Yap. Imagine, no rare minerals or anything that could be given a high value on the remote islands, so we spend years carving a stone and that is how its value is derived (size and time spent). Next I use it to 'buy' my status or whatever. With such a small population, everyone would know which family set out to make it and when a purchase was made with it, the islanders would all know what was bought and who the new owner is. The Latte Stone would never have to 'change hands', just change ownership in the minds of the people. I can't see any other reason why they would make them there... Anyway, have fun. PM me if you want to.

I was born on GUAM, Great place to live/visit enjoy yourself...Lots of WW2 history on the island. I would definitely get a mask and snorkel or take a dive, apra harbor has a couple shallow wrecks you could walk out to and snorkel the jap freighters sunk by the U.S.N .  Anyhow enjoy the Island been quite a few years since I've been home.
