Please tell me I'm not the only one who has seen this show. Seen 1 episode and and the trash of Detroit sure came out on this show...

All Pawn shops are like this. HOWEVER, this particular show no doubt, "encourages" the folks to act like complete jack wagons.

So true
-
It fits right in with the mindless garbage that is now called entertainment.
Never watch it.

Ah yes, I'm sure you yearn for the days of "My Two Dads", "Falcon Crest", "Alf", "Silver Spoons", "Mr. Washington" (the one with the chimp), etc., etc.
Back in the good 'ol days the scripting was solid as a rock and the actors were masters of their craft.
T.V. has always, and will always suck.

I don't know about that. How do you feel about shows like Andy Griffith, Little House On The Prairie, McHale's Navy, Redd Skelton Show, Sanford and Son, Lucy, The Jack Benny Show, Ed Sullivan, Get Smart, Gun Smoke, Wonderful World of Disney... etc.
Those were the shows that the whole family could sit down and watch. Everyone in the house enjoyed them. No filthy words needed to be bleeped out every 3 seconds, no story lines involving teen sex, drugs freaks on parade, gay marriage, ...etc.
T.V. hasn't always sucked but it does now. If it wasn't for my wife I'd do away with cable all together and just buy the old shows on disc and watch then instead. I may do that anyway. She can get her crap American Idol off of one of the computers. :ahand
The money I'd save on the cable bill, I could buy a nice hide-a-bed and sleep in the den when she gets to raggin' on me about no cable. :devil

See, you listed a bunch of good shows, while during the same era they were airing several stinkers as well (dare I say "Mr. Ed").
There are several shows on nowadays that are passable for good family entertainment. What ruins it for me is the amount of advertising thrown at us every 7 minutes.
This is why I say T.V. sucks and rarely watch any live programming, instead I use the DVR frequently. That way I get to skip the ads. Unfortunately I have no choice when it comes to product placement.
I mean c'mon man... really?

And yes, Hardcore Pawn is really trashy, but just about any "reality" show is.
-
:rofl yeah I never was much of a Mr. Ed fan either.
-
Hardcore pawn is just a rip off of Pawn Stars, History channel learned a lesson when they went behind the Pawn Stars Back to make "Cajun Pawn".
Pawn stars is interesting for the stuff that comes in, its pretty basic: You bring in an item - they don't know anything about it - they call in an expert.
Expert says at auction it sells for 10,000 - pawn guys offer to buy it for $2000, person whines and argues then agrees to sell it for $2225.
Chumlee buys up some hidious item and plays with it till it breaks.
aaaaaaaaaand this sums up the show.
the items however are great source of info, Hardcore pawn is just showing some trashy people trying to sell a $20 tv for $50.

I've never seen Hardcore Pawn (even though I'm from Detroit), but that's a pretty accurate assessment of Pawn Stars. Pawn Stars I find entertaining enough to watch if I see that its on, but I don't go out of my way to watch it.

Hardcore Pawn was created to cash on the Pawn Stars, so says the woman who created the show and runs the network.
Look her up, she's pretty smart - took a dying company and rebuilt it.
