Title: Strange GV graphics state
Post by: TDeacon on March 30, 2012, 10:19:16 AM
Last night I was spawned to the edge of a cliff.  I failed to successfully back off, and slid down.  About half way down, the tank began spinning rapidly, and this condition apparently persisted even when it came to rest at the bottom (although exactly where it ended up was hard to tell, obviously).  Here's the film; this should probably be fixed to allow the vehicle's position to stabilize.  I have seen this in previous AH releases as well.

(EDIT:  This occured at the Trinity V28 field, where the NW-direction vehicle spawn can put you at the top of a cliff).

When a vehicle rolls, part of it penetrates the terrain.

If this happens where a sharp incline meets the flat ground, you might get that spin to happen about twice per year...........if you drive tanks long distance on very steep terrain.

If your travels only include spawning in and out, then it should statistically never happen to you again.

If I see what appears to be a bug, as this apparently is, I report it.  Whether HTC decides to fix it is, of course, up to them.  :-)

oh its a bug alright, but I'm not sure if its one they can do anything about. Like the bushes flipping tanks over (although I was seeing a lot less of it when I left), it might be something thats nessecary for that specific part of the code to work properly.
