Title: Saitek Rudder Pedals
Post by: Nutzoid on March 30, 2012, 04:27:34 PM
I just received the Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals minutes ago and had a couple of questions.

1. Must the software be used if all their going to be used for is AH?
2. Like the CH pedals I was using before, should the Saitek peds be plugged into a powered USB hub, or would plugging them straight into the comp work just as well?

1. No
2. I personally would use a hub but considering they don't use much power at all it's probably not necessary.  The real question is if you have a powered hub, why NOT use it?

I own a set and

1.  No
2.  Either should work.  I power mine from the confuser tower but it's got a considerably larger power supply than it needs.

How do you keep yours from sliding on the floor?
Mine are screwed down.

I'll probably use a powered hub as well, it's just a bit of a pain to get to as it's contained inside my desk. I'll have to move stuff around.  :frown:
Mine came with two 9" strips of velcro. In addition, I'll use the same set of PVC I used to keep my CH peds in place.

Same setup here, instead of screws a piece of non-slip mat keeps them in place. Available quite cheap in automotive stores.

I've been happy with mine.  I like having the rudder off the joystick and the independent brakes.  I just wish they'd have used a stiffer spring in the rudder axis.
