Thx Sir.
Not much, just sprayed it Mr Color Burn Iron, which looks pretty good in itself then added some Rust/Heavy Rust pastel chalks, the exhaust stains were sprayed with a mix of some Light Gray shade and white.

Far better than any of my attempts have ever come out.

Nice job. hard to tell, but did you give the decals a coat of anything to help them set after applying them? And again hard to tell, did you give it an overall flat finish coat?
Nice work.

Hi Shane, I used Micro-Sol and Micro-Set for decals, which did the job pretty well making the decals set on the surface. I'll try and upload some closeup shots of the decals. The model also received an overall flat acrylic coat :)

like i said hard to tell on my monitor (it's somewhat on the dark side) - at least you're making them, lol. i'm sure there are quite a few of us with boxes and boxes of unbuilt kits laying around.
which kit?

I don't even like P38s, but that one is beautifull. :O

Thanks for all the nice comments fellas, im pretty happy with the result, even though there are much better modelers even on this site :)
Shane, it is the Hasegawa 1:48 kit, this is the "Beautiful Lass" boxing containing decals also for "Screamin' Kid and "Texas Ranger", which was the only choice for me since I wanted to make an E.T.O P-38.
The kit is nicely detailed and I'd say the best one in 1:48 scale, even though there are some pitfalls, mainly the boom/wing joints which take a lot of putty and rescribing, wheel wells are abit troublesome and also one has to be aware of the usual warpage/boom alignment issues familiar with all the 38 kits..

Nice work on that 38H Koski :)
Jack Jenkins, first Allied fighter pilot over Berlin in Texas Ranger :)

I mostly recognize it from the last photo, that is how mine looks most times.
