Title: Taken down by Ack ....(Wife)
Post by: Slate on April 04, 2012, 12:05:58 PM: My Wife who is very helpful in most things decided to click on a message while online yesterday.
"PC Problem Click to fix"

When I got home She informed me something was wrong with the computer. Ok I said so She shows me the desktop with no icons and no programs just a cascading file failure message. With her innocent voice "It said fix so I thought I was helping."
Well I went to work rebooting in safe mode, still no programs but was able to find restore in help center and restored it to another day. Then ran the Microsoft Security Essentials and found, quarantined and removed files.
It was a Trojan program and wiped out Documents, Pictures and many files some related to AH. I had to uninstall AH and then reinstall game.
I have an external HD that I connect for backup and my important files and pictures are saved on that.

So be careful the Wife Ack can take you down when you least expect it. :uhoh

Post by: Delirium on April 04, 2012, 12:11:22 PM: My wife is just as bad... I don't let her touch my computer. I keep a copy of her HD from her computer in iso format ready for when she does something I wouldn't advise.

And here I bought her a laptop of her own so she wouldn't screw up my good computer. :salute

I'm the only one getting viruses and it's only been in the last few years following links from conservitive opinon sites to progressive liberal opinion sites to read the other side of the story.

Never got one going the other way around.... :headscratch:

Best answer Here, if not the wife my teenage Christian sons, who I tell to stay off the porn sites.......guaranteed hard drive upgrades once a year.
