Title: Using the Mic
Post by: Alky on April 05, 2012, 01:02:17 PM
I've just come back to AH after being away 2 or 3 years and am trying to set up my controllers & keys.  A couple of things have escaped my memory as well as a search.
 - What activates my mic, I don't see any mention of a key for push to talk.
 - Is the text radio always on the screen or is there a key to display it or not.
I've been looking through the help files and using search, but these two things I can't find  :(
Thanx!  :)

'T' and 'F12' are the default keys for activating the microphone.  Hold them down to capture, then release to send the captured voice.

I assume you mean the text box, not the radio control bar.  Iti s ever present.  You can adjust the transparnecy of it (not the text) if you like and you can move it around.  Also note, there are tabs now for routing text from different channels to different tabs.

And for other things you may have forgotten there is a printable list of most commands at the Trainers site.

Ok, now that I see it it's quite obvious  :salute

Actually it is the radio bar that I meant, I moved the chat text window to the top of the screen. The radio bar is what I was looking to hide until I need it :)

Use the radio bar to type in "dot" commands

To check the mic yourself, you can type  .radio5 Alky   then hit enter

If your in game ID is Alky then you will find the voice radio is tuned to yourself so you can hear yourself on the radio and check it is working OK.
Also when you open the radio bar you will see a list of those in "range" . You can speak to those people using the F12 key as your mic transmit button.

How do you turn off the radio bar?  I see the forward slash opens it, but I don't see how to close it.   :frown:
Thanx.

A problem most old AirWarrior players had to deal with. I have changed my bail command to <SHIFT>Enter for that reason.
