Title: Programmable Keypad

If you're looking for a programmable keypad that stores macros etc in it's own memory and doesn't add processes to Windows here's one to consider.
It has blank keys that you label yourself and stores 2 sets of commands.

FLS, do you use one, and if so what do you have programed in?  I've looked at these and the gamer style keyboards that also allow macro keys.  I'm just not sure what I would use if for yet.   :headscratch:

Sounds like you don't need one hyzer.  :D

I use them for macros, key presses, and emulating controllers like the UFC in A10C. The gaming keyboards require resident software and increase the processes in Windows. Gaming keyboards are also generally labeled with numbers instead of replaceable labels that describe their current function.

I use one of these razer keypads to supplement my backlit keyboard.  It also has backlit keys.  I fly in a darkened room to enhance TIR performance.
This keypad is perfect for my setup.  I have it where I can get to it comfortably with my left hand as opposed to reaching across the keyboard for some commands.  It's very easy to setup too.  I put my gear, elevator trim, open/close clipboard, both radio transmit keys, icon type toggle, and have more keys yet to be programmed.

FLS how does it translate those key presses into actions in the games? Can it be used for more than one game without reprogramming it each time I want to use it in another game?

I am trying to find a solution to help with some keyboard commands in DCS: A-10C and DCS: Black Shark 2 and still retain the ability to have the buttons to be used in AH if necessary as well. If I could get a couple of these to work with different games they might be a real solution for some of these long commands and other things I have to remember for those other flight sims.

It depends on how you program it. Since you can program 2 command sets you could use one for A-10C and one for BlackShark. Any key that sends a standard keycode could be programmed in any game. Any key that sends a command specific to one game, like a macro that directs your wingman, would likely not be usable in another game.

Aces High needs fewer commands then you already have available on your HOTAS.

Yes this is true about AH particularly if you don't do anything other than fly or GV. However in needing/wanting to do both and then have some other time in different games these keypads may not work for what I am trying to find. Unless you set them up on on/off USB switches to turn the things on or off as needed and even then it would be redundant to have multiple keypads that were active for some things and inactive for others. I still like the idea but for me they would need a little extra work to be usable.

I've been thinking along these lines, and I really like my current setup, based on Cherry's "Point of Sale" terminal keybards. I get 142 programmable buttons that I can reprogram and re-legend. I have 3 of these for 3 of my flight sim "cockpits", and I've hinted to my spousal unit that I might like another for Christmas....  They cost about $130.00 each  when purchased from the best retailers online.  Here's a link to my detailed description:
