I want window available to allied bombers, was frequently and effectively used throughout WW2 and should be available as an weapons option.

It would be fun to blow up the bardar with one formation equipped with chaff in order to distract from the real raid, but with all the whining about hordes being used to take bases I doubt the community will be very accepting of something that could make it even easier for the hordes.

Seems unfair to reject the idea merely because it would be "gamed" by the hoarders. In that case we should get rid of laser ack and AA tank guns :furious

Bar dar is not a radar installation. It represents information from various sources collected and dispensed by HQ. This is why hitting HQ turns it off.

I wouldnt want it to remove the dar bar, just disprupt the radar returns over the bas in which its dropped temporarily

What it ought to do is return a large number of radar contacts, so in game terms a single Lancaster formation could cause a base to show as though a large raid was coming in, but the bar dar would still only show a short length because there is only the one Lancaster formation. I'm not sure it is something that would be worth the programming time as any minimal attention at reading the map would tell the defenders that it wasn't a real raid.

As it is, it just as easy to up a 190 and hit the radar at 4-5 bases around the operations area and blind the enemy anyway.

I have to wonder about the effectiveness of aluminum strips in a daylight only sim. Apparently the glaring sun reflecting off the
window would blind enemy interceptor pilots? :D You don't need radar to see base raiders ya know.

The only thing it would do is make a bunch of radar contacts, but the lack of any associated bar dar would reveal it as false immediately. I guess they could drop Window to the north of a base while hitting it from the south, but that seems a lot riskier than simply trying to sneak the base like they do now as it would be calling defenders to the area.
