I kicked this question to the Knights and got some ok feedback. Would be nice to see the country that so pilot is flying for when landing kills. For me when somebody lands kills I have to either look up the name in the roster (which is not fun when trying to keep my SA. :airplane: ) or type .s <name> to see if they get a salute. Just trying to be nice and saying good job to all that land kills. If anybody has a better way of doing this then please let me know, besides the advise of saying Nothing to anybody when they land kills.

It's an Ok wish, but I'm confused about your statement about using the .s command. You don't need to know, nor can you tell, what country someone is on when you use the the .s command to salute them...it's arena wide and everyone can see it.

You can't salute players on your own country :)

Well then...change it so you can. :D

Why not let .s <playername> go out to someone on your own country? If somebody wants to salute somebody else, why should it matter what country they're in, or why someone wants to send a salute? It doesn't have to be as a result of a fight with "the enemy".
So, change it so you can .salute anyone no matter the country.

Love the idea!

Ah yes, I get it. I was a bit slow :uhoh
And now that I get it... I'm against it :P
Why? Because I'm afraid it will further clog the text window. Right now, we have all the "oinks", "slurp!" "WTG" and other forms of virtual high fives limited to each country's own channel. If you can .s your own side, memebers big squads will routinely start so .s each other (and more often than they do the 'enemy'), with showing up on every players screen in every country.

so lets say that ":devil" is the rooks.
if someone on the rook side lands kills then
"( :devil) mofo has landed 4 kills."

+1 to universal salutes.
Im partial to country tags in landings though. Neighther +/-
Let us remember, it has long been refered to as "getting your name in lights". Enabling the tags - I see two imediate negative effects. 1) Country chat spam... as it is, we get a number of complaints saluting our own squadies and more-renowned fellow countrymen when they land a sucessful sortie. 2) Further ENY issues as newer or bandwagoning players (for all the good or bad reasons, lets not focus on that) to group up on the country having the most success at that time in the arena... as it is, the "base rolling hordes" also stir up quite a negative communtiy reaction. Otherwise, I like the idea of some more country recognition and credit in the buffer, especialy on maps where a good pace would be 1-2 base captures an hour.

All Hitech has to do to the message is add a (B), (K), or (R) before or after the name.
HOST: (X) CatLicker Landed 5 Hairballs in a Dyson Tornado Vac of the Free Kitties Couch Shredders.

To take this a step further, I'd like to see the vehicle the enemy was in along eith the team icon and player handle.
E.g. "you shot down a B-17g flown by [bish icon] ShtGn"
Guess it could work for the flip side...
"a B-17g flown by [bish icon] ShtGn shot you down"
