Heck of a player and very sad for the families.
-
He was one fof the few that I would consider a real gentleman in the NFL. Not good to lose him. :(
Read where supposedly he shot himself in chest so his brain can be studied. Evidently, that is the way multiple players have gone. A sad deal.
-
specific reason on why he did it?
-
I saw that earlier.... I'm shocked.
-
I wonder if he left a note to check his brain like that other guy.

i heard he did

That is sad. I can not understand the torment that makes someone contemplate doing something like this. I hope his soul finds piece.

Sad, Burris and now Jr. I read an article about high school and college football going to suffer from JR's passing. I don't know what to say. I had an uncle try and kill himself, by shooting himself in the heart, but he didn't play football.

One of the best at what he did...

This is what getting hit hard, and going right back out on the field will do. These guys are messed up in the head, and they know it, which is why there have been a few cases of the players shooting themselves in the chest and not the head. They want their brains to be studied in order to raise awareness.
Football in general (not just the NFL) is becoming more aware about head injuries and the long-lasting affects of them. A damn shame to see Junior go. He was one guy who I always saw as a straight shooter. RIP.

He shot himself in the chest which is pretty much the same thing, but the San Diego newspapers said he left no note.

Yes that's correct, we are all in shock here. He gave his time willingly to all the communities around here including my own. My step kids benefited directly from his giving many times.
