Title: Turtle Beach Z6As headphones
Post by: wiskyfog on May 04, 2012, 03:28:53 PM
I purchased a set of turtle Beach headphones model Z6a and did'nt take too long before my wife noticed I had a blue band surrounding my ear, and it was dye from the head phones. I contacted turtle Beach, told him of the problem, they said they would test a set of pads and send me a new pair. Second pair did the same thing. I contacted turtle Beach again, this time the blue dye had rubbed off of my head onto our expensive Egyptian sheets approximately $140 per set. They assured me again that all the ear pads were tested, and they sent me another pair of pads. Yes, you guessed it more blue dye. I contacted them again. This time I demanded a refund and since it wasn't purchased through THEIR online retail store they would not honor a refund. And the Amazon.com seller only ensures a return for a month. CAN YOU SAY GET THE VASELINE!
If you are considering buying turtle Beach products don't expect much support when it comes to their ear pads they would just send you a brand-new ones with brand-new dye. And I would ask my fellow pilots to give them hell on their website at Facebook...

Wow.  Lame.   :(

I have a pair of their older, discontinued "HPA2" headphones, which do not have this flaw.

Which is why I steer clear of anything with colors added to it on the ear covers. +1 for Sennheiser PC360's I own!

Sorry about the wrecked expensive bedsheets.  Its one thing for a product to be defective but maddening when it ruins other things you own.   I have also had problems with companies not accepting returns for refund of items bought through Amazon.

really hate to tell you but did you read the reviews in amazon before buying it?  that was the #1 complain, actually it was the only complain.

I just bought a pair last month (saw good reviews, somehow missed the "blue ears" prob) and they must have addressed the issue; cushions are black cloth, fairly comfy...

Turtle Beaches are very cheaply made. At one point the tiny screws that held the ear phone to the headset worked out.

I just bought some sennheisers so far much better sound quality. They also seem to be put together much better.

Turtle Beach maintains their top-notch product testing team never noticed any problems with blue dye rubbing off the headphone earpads onto users.
