And where to buy it
http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=04G-P4-2690-KR&family=GeForce%20600%20Series%20Family&sw=
I dont know if it will work on some motherboards as it being PCIe3. But it looks like a monster.

In about 5 years they won't be. But this thing probably will.

:x.... if only I had 1 grand laying around....
Was reading something somewhere ( Iforget where) because I had the same concern about 3.0 working on boards. Supposedly 3.0 is backwards compatible, but 2.0 wont work on 3.0 or something. its a matter of speeds transmitted in the PCIe slots or something. Someone somewhere along the line will be able to add to this I'm sure.

One too many 9s for me.

Try 2 years. In 5 years this thing will be considered a joke.

I am going to buy two and throw one away :rofl

Yeah but that one isn't even the big one....take a look at this ridiculous waste of coin. I am not going to consider any of the cards with a price point up over $300 or so. I just can't bring myself to spend money like that on something that will isn't going to do more for me that show pretty graphics and will still be limited by the speed of a CPU. Maybe when the video card becomes the complete package I am all in.
$1049.99 just on a flippin video card.

Wait for Kepler +1.

Ha!
I think you know how to get around the limitation. The problem is the last gen people would hoard the offerings and then resell them on Amazon for a 100% profit.
While this card is amazing the next gen will be even better and I wont be upgrading until I have to. Im out of the CAD business for the time being (what CAD business?) and into the audio/video industry so for me this is not much of a concern.
If someone thinks this is expensive try looking at the Sony NEX FS700! :D
