For about a month now (since last update) I have been getting some weird crashs to desktop. I can be in an aircraft, GV, PT, etc... and the game will hang up and boom I get a window that says Aces High has stopped responding...
Today it started happening when I click on the Hanger menu. I can move around in the towers to different fields and even launch whatever vehicle or aircraft that I had used previously but I can not open the Hanger or any other GUI menu title without getting booted from the game. Not sure what the casue of the problem is but as I said this has been happening to me for about a month now since the latest update.
I did put in 8GB more of RAM in my system recently but this was happening PRIOR to the installation of new RAM. In fact it happens no matter which sticks of RAM I have in the system.

Maybe try disabling one of your audio controllers? You have a Realtek audio chipset and your NVidia chipset active.
Perhaps newer video drivers as well.
-
Just remember, any abnormal termination of the game has the possibility of corrupting configuration files. I would also suggest using the default graphics settings and see if that helps.
Push comes to shove, rename the 'settings' folder, leave all the options at defaults, and see what happens.
And by all means, get rid of one of those sound chips. That WILL introduce stability issues into the game.

No idea why I have two audio chipsets active. Have to dip into that and see what the problem might be.

It's extremely common. One on the video card, one on the motherboard. Just disable the one that you're not using via Device Manager.

Still having it but I think I have just about narrowed down the culprits. Trying the second newest drivers for video now since the new ones weren't downloading correctly.
-
Be careful with the NVidia drivers. They have had some real problems with some of the latest drivers.

Yep I had read about some of those problems before starting this exercise. We shall see what the end result might be here.
