June Snapshots:

June 6   CRYPTIC  Hellcats over Mindanao (http://www.ahevents.org/events/snapshot/snapshot-setups/40-pacific-theatre/153-hellcats-over-mindanao.html)

Gen Douglas MacArthur, Adm Chester Nimitz and the members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff chose to reoccupy the Philippine islands rather than strike toward the Chinese mainland. Sixteen fast-carriers departed at the end of August with some  520 Hellcats.  A significant increase over the previous standard of 36 fighters. Mission Briefing: This Snapshot represents initial fighter sweeps and strikes of Imperial Japanese forces on Mindanao by USN F6F Hellcats operating from Task Force 38.

June 13  68Raptor Thunder in the Aleutians (http://www.ahevents.org/events/snapshot/snapshot-setups/40-pacific-theatre/437-thunder-in-the-aleutians.html)

The Japanese scramble to defend their newly taken islands in the Aleutian islands. Should be a fast and fun little air battle between some well matched planes!

June 20  68Baltar  Sand Huggers (http://ahevents.org/events/snapshot/snapshot-setups/41-mediterranean-theatre/404-sand-huggers.html)

This will be a great battle between A-20 and BF-109 over the sand.  Should be fun to put a hurt on Rommel, and flying over the beautiful sand,  as the war battered BF-109 try to fight back.

June 27  68Hawk  NOBALL (http://ahevents.org/events/snapshot/snapshot-setups/42-western-european-theatre/71-noball.html)

Pre-D-Day raid against the french coast.  Mosquito MkVI, P-38J and P-47D-11 attack the German installations there.  Defended by 109G-6 and 190A-5 fighters.  Will the allies pave the way for the landings?
