Title: Electronic parts
Post by: zack1234 on May 22, 2012, 12:52:35 AM
Just read that 70% of fakes come from China and had ended up being used in US military equipment :old:

Another reason to bring manufacturing out of china and back into the US

I'm sure they test these parts before putting it in military tech....

It's the common household crap that's the problem with China. Already made a rule in my house to not buy a single Chinese made item, clothes, electronics, etc, if possible.

lol, you wouldn't have much in your house, mostly stuff made somewhere else containing chinese made components. if you went low tech, you could do it with careful shopping.

china is very good at what they do. and what they do, is to copy successful things.

You'd be surprise. All my clothes are from other countries (Mexico, Vietnam mostly), almost all electronics are from Japan or the US with the exception of my PC, iPod, phone, and clock. I mean there are probably things made in China that I own, but not the important ones like TV, kitchen items, microwave, etc etc.

China does it better and cheaper.  If you don't want to buy Chinese it's your own choice.
Personally I don't have a problem with buying items that are made overseas.

For expensive products a little research will pay off

might want to check again. the electronics in your stove very likely contain pcb's, resistors, something made in china. same goes for the television and microwave. check the electronics on your car too...  i found a chinese parts in a ford voltage regulator labeled "made in mexico".

japan does what other countries do, buy components from china, add japanese parts to the assembly then stamp them with "made in japan".

Just a little pet peeve is all, as long as the stamp doesn't say "Made in China", I'm alright with it. Weird, stupid, silly, or all of the above, I don't care, just a personal preference is all.

on the plus side a large proportion of the non-chinese fakes are manufactured in the UK. which means we are making stuff and exporting it!
