i wish the ju-52 german transport was available in this game that has been around for 13 years and is fun to play....as per skuzzys request, lol
-
I'd like to see some axis transports for immersion reasons. It would seem that they wouldn't require a lot of work in the flight model accuracy as they wouldn't need to be a lot different from the C47 other than speed perhaps.
-
3 engines means the flight model would be quite different than the C-47 i'd think
-
Knowing my luck, the first critical hit I took would be the oil on number 2...who needs forward visibility anyway..just ask Lindbergh :lol

Perhaps, but I would think that for a transport we wouldn't need painstaking research for accuracy.

bet Lindbergh was using F3 mode haha the little cheater... :rofl
Seriously, i would like to see the ju-52 just after about 8-10 other aircrafts. The problem is, seeing how quickly the 410 got ready, i might be a grown man when the 52 will be completed.

no thanks

That's not how they work. The flight model is based on the airflow over the specific shapes of the wings, airframe, engines, tail surfaces, etc. You can't just copy and paste the C-47 onto the Ju52. They are totally different planes.
While the C-47 is about twice as fast as the Junkers, it would be nice to have one day so that scenarios and axis-v-allied setups would have a bit more immersion.

Saying the C47 is twice as fast as...ANYTHING is mind boggling to me..

C-47 wouldn't be twice as fast. Only about 70mph faster.

Top speed of the junkers was about 150mph. Top speed of the C47 about 230-235?
Close enough to "twice as fast"
-
+1 It would be great for scenarios. I don't know how much it would be used in the MA.

I've been told that the C-47A has never been used in a scenario, so it really might be just a choice between the unarmed C-47A and the much slower, but lightly armed, Ju52. Kinda like how you can choose a heavy payload and a few guns on the Lanc or lots of guns and a light bomb load on the B-17G.

So.... what would your old man say to you back in the day as a kid if you came home from the store with 80-cents change instead of a buck-fifty?

:aok

Ah well, never mind then.

The Ju 52 was as fast as 165-170 mph in about 1km altitude. It could not fly faster because of the supercharing system of the engines - optimized for low alt missions.
Teh DC-3/C-47 had a better alt performance as their mission profile was different so alt-optimized engines were used. Max speed is reported in about 3km.

The C-47A in AH seems to do about 220mph at 3,000ft. That is still a good 50-55mph faster.
