If your comms are overly loud and undisciplied nothing you say is going to clear it, most likely you'll get stepped on and talked over unless you have a specific phrase everyone know means STFU.

There is no way. If you are timed to a channel that is used as a country channel forget it. If you are on a mission channel or squad channel then the ranking person should have control. Even on a private channel anyone can tune and be an a hole and disrupt things if they want.

I just say 'shhhhh' if it is a squeaker, or make some remark about something being obvious.  However I will take more over less chatter in a multi-con. . .

Even on a private channel anyone can tune and be an a hole and disrupt things if they want.

The only "private" channel is channel 4 (Squad). But the rest of what you say is true.

It would be nice to be able to squelch or de-tune the Range channel at times, though.

It's called Ventrillo or Teamspeak, also XFire. These will work with AH, and you can boot the offenders.

Break is the typical proword used on comms to tell people that you have traffic that needs to be broadcast.

I remember a time when Gldnbb may have repeated Break a good 20 times before anyone paid any attention. And even then it was just those people repeating Break a good more number of times for comedic effect  :lol

The 80th must be doing something wrong, we never need to demand vox authority over someone else.

If anything does clear the channel, it would be Soulyss yelling, "OH GOD! OH GOD!" just before the horde pig piles him.   :lol

I'm going to guess the original poster flew a FSO event and couldn't get through the chatter to share the many tasty enemy planes he had found.

In FSO or scenario or even a squad night,  the command staff should keep it clear normally (or at least controlled).  Flying in the MA's off of your squad channel, good luck :lol :bolt:

You could try calling in a 9-Line Medevac or a UXO report.

Just don't say, "Breaker 1-9". Ham Radio originally came up with "Break" as a way to alert others for emergency comm, that was picked up on and abused by CBers as "Breaker" if we(Hams) want to contact another ham during a pile-up we say "Contact". I would suggest here in game, "Alert-Clear Channel please" repeated... :salute
